Is it possible to swap partway through, via some massive grind like the basilisk eye/spider venom grind of yesteryear? I was thinking of getting the non combat pet from the Oracles then high tailing it out of there later once I've outgrown the gear they give yoy, because I'm a jerk.

From what I understand, they both give pets. One is a mysterious egg, the other some goo. Both "hatch" after 7 days- and they both give the chance of three diff pets: Tickbird Hatchling, White Tickbird Hatchling, and Cobra Hatchling.

No, the egg does change to a pet, but the goo doesn't (It changes to a potion of some kind).

Yes, after you're done with Oracle rep and got all rewards you wanted, you can go back to the same cave and kill the lich again, but this time leave the wolvar alive and kill the gorloc. Wolvar will give your a quest option to change alignment and you become honored with them instantly.
