Four year anniversary pet and feat of strength achievement
Those of us waking up today and tomorrow will log into Azeroth and find in our mailboxes a little Baby Blizzard Bear non-combat pet. This pet will also give you a feat of strength achievement celebrating World of Warcraft's four years online.
This is a nice little way for Blizzard to thank all of us for spending years in the game. With over 11 million people playing WoW, and Wrath becoming a hit overnight, there's definitely a lot of celebrating to do over at Blizzard HQ.
The little bear that you get looks a like a small version of the BlizzCon Polar Bear Mount those of us lucky enough to attend BlizzCon this year got. It's a perfect traveling companion for you as you adventure around Northrend.
Edit: The pet is active on US, EU, and Oceanic servers.
Thanks to Mangowire for sending us the pics you see below.

To my knowledge, no one has got Chilly yet, except in the Beta. From what we can tell, they're not implementing him or they're waiting to do so.

but what about the EU servers?!? we want this too... :'(

You need to rewrite this topic so bad or just copy paste the massively.com one over it. Half the comments, including me, show how confusing this writing was for people.
If you didn't get what he was saying read the sister sites article.

I completely agree, I read this and thought "Well that's just great, another thing for 'old school' players to brag about while the rest of us don't get the cutest little pet ever." :(
Then I saw the massively post and realized it was for everyone, not just old school players.

well, wouldn't it be a precious surprise for those readers that misunderstood? if i had read it wrong i would certainly be like a kid finding gifts under the tree next time i check my mail.

Nooooo! I'm at home already for the holidays and I forgot to bring the Lich King DVD back with me!! *dies a little inside*
Poor baby's going to feel lost and alone stuck in that mean mailbox until I get home...

If you've already upgraded your account, you can just download the patch from the website.

You get the pet in the mail of the toon that logs in ... but it's a Bound To Account thing, so you can mail it to your alts.
I logged in on my alts all the same, just to also get the achievement there ;-)

Awesome, now what happened to Chilly from Beta? :P
ZekeGrimsblade Nov 23rd 2008 7:37AM
Apparently, Frosty is the thing you get from the CE. I wish there was other ways to get those pets, because there is so much I will never be able to get. I just love pets.

"I concur! Or at least a baby mammoth to tide me over.
But the sounds the bear makes! Too CUTE! ^__^"
I would love a baby mammoth :)

this pet is boss. giving it away to everyone in game had to be a big decision for blizz.
miggedymike Nov 25th 2008 6:17AM
It is an awsome little companion. Too bad hunters can't tame the baby bears in dragonblight. I still dream of a cute little baby bear throwing tauren blood all over the place in pvp......
/wistful sigh

Due to it being bind on account, does that mean that it is faction bound or is there a way to put it on horde and ally charecters
Jay Nov 22nd 2008 4:02PM
Why would you need to transfer the pet when you get it on the toons you log in with?
Kyle Nov 22nd 2008 3:43PM
Yet another advantage on collection achievements for people with money to blow and a blow to people who are new to the game.
Beatphreek Nov 22nd 2008 4:11PM
huh?
I think one of us has misread. Anyone playing the game gets one of these right now... and its free.
Magma Nov 22nd 2008 5:51PM
Wow, Kyle, you're a dumb ass.
