Forum post of the day: Best LOL moment in "Wrath"
Wrath is an odd mix. It's unquestionably darker in tone than both classic WoW and Burning Crusade, but it's not hard to find funny bits and pieces scattered around. Därkseid of Deathwing, after having a disgusted murloc refuse to be rescued by him ("Ewwww, orc!") during a quest in the Borean Tundra, started a thread dedicated to peoples' favorite humorous moments so far in Wrath. All the normal world PvP events can be found here (aggroing a Storm Giant while being attacked and Feigning Death onto your enemy? Check!) but you'll also find a growing catalogue of memorable quest text and great NPC dialogue, like Akini's entry on this page. For my money it's tough to exceed the tongue-in-cheek commentary you'll find in the books scattered around Acherus as you start a career as a Death Knight, including the one pictured above. Some of them are actually serious and give accounts of the Scourge's spying into the preparations made by the Horde and the Alliance for an assault on Northrend. Some of them, like The Death Knights of Acherus, are just hilarious, namely the entry concerning one "Harmony" whose period of service turned out to be extremely brief: "The name of this death knight was found in violation of common Scourge decency. Struck down by the Lich King." Well, Arthas, in such matters I defer to your excellent judgment.

Hehe - lots of good funny. Added bonus: I think the "Harmony" entry may be a nod to a Death Knight during the beta who somehow ended having a level ZERO avatar on the forums, believe her character got borked during a patch and got nuked, but was still showing up when she posted!

I believe that most of the names in "The Death Knights of Acherus" were people who played during the alpha testing phase. Cobalt, for example, was someone who fell off the balcony in Ebon Hold before they put up the guard rail.

All of the names in this book were Beta players, who somehow managed to stand out, be it that they were the first Death Knights to be made, or especially helpful or especially funny, etc.
Harmony was known for being a very active tester with a high forum presence and good ounce of humour.

Two words: "Demoralizing Mmmrrrggglll!"

Demoralizing Mmmrrrggglll was pretty good. Actually, that whole quest chain -- ending with the jaunt in the murloc suit was pretty damn funny.
And Doing your Duty? Yeah, that was total 8th-grade locekr room humor there.

All the DK names in Death Knight of Acherus are well known DKs from Beta who were typically very helpful in the community.

My LOL moment was when you turn in that heartbreeaking letter you get from killing the mage hunter troll, all guilty cause you killed one of the good guys, and Agmar after reading it says something like "BWAHAHAHAH! Boo-hoo, how touching."
It was so meanspirited that it made me laugh. :p

This is a random question related to that book The Death Knights of Acherus, but does everyone have their DK's player name entered as the last entry as a joke or did I just luck out in choosing a name that appears last in the book?
Hnetu Nov 23rd 2008 5:43PM
Yeah the first pages are players from the Beta who were generally pretty awesome people. The last page is marked as and shows your name when you read it.
To another post. Demoralized Mmmrrrggglll! was my favorite too.

Was your note "Needs more cowbell"?
I'm wondering if everybody got that. >_>

Asric and Jadaar - they got fired after the Griftah investigation in Shattrath, and now they hang around the Dalaran sewers arguing about who's fault it was. XD

Could you crazies just give us straight-up, obvious links to the thread your talking about? I really get tired of searching the post for an obscure link >.> Just a "By the way, here is the thread: www.blahblahblah.com/forumpostwhatever" would be nice.

My best LOL Moment was when my future self told me I was going to be invited to a fancy party, but not the drink the punch!

I love the Wolvar/Oracle storylines.
The "teacher" Dajik, of the Wolvar, cracked me up with his "smart tips."

For me it would have to be the rescued Peons in the "Taken By the Scourge" quest in Borean Tundra, who say something like "Why does it tell me to put the lotion on its skin? I don't like the lotion!"

Two Npc's standing by the forge in Fort Wildevar, a dwarven blacksmith and a vagrant with a pack mule, have a argument about living in Northrend. This is how it ends:
"Now get your ass away from my forge!"
"That, sir, is a mule!"
