JamieG asked...
What is the minimum required enchanting skill to disenchant epics from Naxxramas? It's unlikely that we will need to for a while, but it would be handy to know!
You only need 375 Enchanting. If you capped Enchanting off in The Burning Crusade, you're set straight to epics.
Naithin asked...
How much gold do the level 80 dailies give you? Are there even level 80 specific dailies, or do you just gain more gold from the existing ones you find as you level due to no longer gaining the xp from them? I know there were heroic / regular dungeon dailies mentioned recently, but it was never actually mentioned how much or what they offer in way of reward.
It sort of depends on the daily. If it's more difficult, you'll get more gold. Sort of how when you're leveling, a group quest gives you far more XP than a solo quest. The typical solo level 80 daily quest will net you a bit over 13 gold at level 80.
The Dungeon Daily and Heroic Daily gives extra gold (in the area of 30g total per quest rather than 13g), and also an item. The Dungeon Daily gives you a token that you can use to increase your reputation with the Kirin Tor, Wyrmrest Accord, the Argent Crusade or the Ebon Blade by 250. The Heroic Daily gives you two extra Emblems of Heroism.
Daily quests that open up before level 80ish will give you less gold depending on their level. For example, the quest in which you steal babies for a walrusman in the Dragonblight only give 5 gold at top level. Those are still worth doing for the reputation, though. They give a fair amount of that.

By way of questing through the Fjord and part of the Dragonblight, I've come across three quest rewards as a tank. Not upgrades or sidegrades or downgrades, just rewards, period. Meanwhile, my healing off-set is getting really good, with two blue trinkets, new gear in pretty much every slot, etc etc. Does this situation get better in the last half of the Dragonblight and on, or should I just respec?
As you get closer to 80 you'll start seeing more tanking rewards. There aren't a whole lot of tanking rewards early on because most people probably wouldn't even take them, it's not considered 'leveling gear.' Even tanks would throw on some extra DPS gear while soloing to get the most out of their Shield Slams or whatever. It's a bit of a problem when it comes to tanking dungeons if you didn't start Wrath with good tank gear, but if you find yourself getting endlessly gibbed you could commission a Blacksmith to make you a set of Tempered Saronite gear. Expensive, but it's something.
...although I suppose you could be a Druid as well, and not necessarily a Paladin, which was my gut instinct when you said 'healing off-set.' If you're a Druid, generic leather with stamina, strength and agility will be just perfectly fine and dandy until 80. Nothing hits super hard in pre-Heroic dungeons. As long as you have enough HP to not die, you're okay. Once you near level 80, you'll start coming across a lot more real tanking gear.

"Daily quests that open up before level 80ish will give you less gold depending on their level. For example, the quest in which you steal babies for a walrusman in the Dragonblight only give 5 gold at top level."
That quest is giving 5 gold pre-80, along with rep and a 20K chunk of XP. Are you saying that XP will not be translated into gold at max level anymore?
Dvorkin Nov 23rd 2008 6:30PM
Well, the article is definitely mistaken here. According to Wowhead, that particular quest gives additional 4g 86s at level cap. It is still seems too low for level 72 daily (average level 70 SSO quest gives ~10g, and these quest were very easy at that level), but I guess Kalu'ak reputation makes for the difference.

@Dvorkin
I'm looking at the quest right now on my level 80 Priest. The reward is 5 gold.
Aerei Nov 23rd 2008 7:20PM
Actually, Alex, there's currently a bug where quests when at max level don't show the gold they give from the experience conversion in the quest log.

I take it the normal dungeon daily quest comes from someone in dalaran? If so can I have thier name?
Dusseldorf Nov 23rd 2008 6:22PM
Two guys right outside of The Violet Hold give the dungeon dailies starting at level 78.

i've been playing wrath for only three days but so far im horrified at the lack of holy paladin gear from quest rewards, i'm seeing leather armou with 50 int, and its really annoying.
is there actually any gear of use to a holy paladin?
Hellsedge Nov 23rd 2008 6:20PM
To answer your question, I'm currently done with all of Borean Tundra and Dragonblight quests and a lot of the plate quest rewards I see have some sort of int or +spell power. Also, there are even more that have +haste... is that the new stat blizz wants us to use?
Eisengel Nov 23rd 2008 9:14PM
You may be suffering from BC plate reward withdrawl. My DK is the first plate-wearing class that I have had in Outland, and the strong emphasis on Paladin gear is extremely evident, at least on the Horde side. I'll do some quest, see some plate and think 'yay, plate!', then I'll mouseover and see Int... or spellpower... or mp5... 'boo.. Pally plate!'. Maybe I just have been hitting the wrong quests, but I have found maybe 20 pieces of plate that did not have a Pally stat on them, and at the moment I am level 66 & tearing through Nagrand.

There is LOADS of great holy plate. In fact, I'd say there is too much. When you consider that there are three plate wearing classes, one can heal, all three can DPS and tank, the balance is well off.

A quick question for you all. What has happened to the random chests that always used to randomly pop up? I have been in 5 different zones now and have not seen one treasure chest. I used to think that my dwarven racial talent was profitable but not anymore. Am I just missing them?
Zrob Nov 23rd 2008 6:53PM
They removed most fo the chest back in BC.
After the Teleport hack and Rogues who were soloing them in Arcatraz, they decided that rare spawns would be better.

I'm wondering if there is any "complementary" armor sets to fill in the gaps of the 5 piece Tier 7.10 and 7.25 sets.
Since these sets are 5 piece, are there any 3 piece complementary sets to fill in the 'gaps' of wrist feet and waist?

With tailoring at 450 are the Epics worth leveling tailoring from scratch for? Also do the specializations for different cloth types differ at lv 80? I'm a Shadow Priest by way of class and the Frozen Shadoweave sets were really worth it in BC. However I've noticed that due to Ebonweave epics giving +hit that this may not be necessary for us spreists anymore, with the Spellweave ones donating significant +haste. Does this mean that Spriest tailors should change their specialization to spellcloth now?
Hoggersbud Nov 23rd 2008 7:28PM
Only if you want to make double the cloth, and are willing to give up your FSW set. However, you don't get any special gear from your specialization in Wrath as far as I can tell.
Eisengel Nov 23rd 2008 9:55PM
It isn't too tough to replace some FSW pieces, especially with BoJ gear given the utility of crit and haste rating now.
However... I'd suggest you take a gander at shadowpriest.com's raiding gear thread.
They calculate the Ebonweave Robe to have a pseudo-damage value of 197.98... meaning if you estimate how much all the stats on the robe contribute to your damage, it is roughly equivalent (given some assumptions) to giving you +197.98 spellpower... if you aren't hit-capped. Remember the hit cap is going up as you level, and the 1% default spell miss chance is gone.
Currently with 3/3 Shadow Focus and 3/3 Misery, you need 290 hit rating at 80 to be hit-capped. If you need the +hit, the Ebonweave Robe is pretty much the 2nd best in the game for you... if you don't need it, it drops to 22nd, below drops from Heroic MgT.
It strikes me as a great early piece that will allow you to perform well until you can gain your hit cap across other gear. The same is true of the gloves. They clock in around 3rd best if you need the hit, once you don't, they drop like a rock.
Spellweave gear does very well, the gloves being 4th best and chest 7th best... given that you are already hit-capped. My plan is to spec Ebonweave and race to get the Ebonweave pieces done, all the while making my 1 Spellweave... then I'll work on getting capped without Ebonweave while I put together the Spellweave pieces.
If I can find a path of quest rewards that give me enough hit (I've found 2 rings so far with some nice +hit), I may go right to Spellweave if possible.

What helm is that thats being worn in the picture?
Jack Spicer Nov 23rd 2008 7:48PM
I think that's a mob.
Nolimit2far Nov 23rd 2008 8:04PM
Pretty sure that's a pic of a Vyrkul chick in Storm peaks
Baluki Nov 23rd 2008 7:44PM
Along the same lines as the tanking gear question, when do you start seeing more Elemental shaman gear? I'm up to 75, and although every quest with an armor reward has a mail item, it's hunter/enhancement gear at least 90% of the time. Gear with spell power & +crit on it is extremely rare. Same with weapons - caster daggers & maces are somewhat hard to find (without spirit on them too) and I've only seen one caster shield.
