What's with the cooking daily quest? It seems to give out cooking currency, but I can't spend the currency in a useful way until I hit 400 cooking.

Should I level my cooking to 400 on [Feast]?

You can level to 400 on the green recipes, I believe.

I'm attempting to hit 400 on feasts. I tried the greens first and it was taking a ridiculous amount of meat to lvl off of the green recipes.

There are a ton of things to level cooking to 400 on but you'll need to make quite a few of them as they do turn green. Keep running the cooking dailies though. The Northern Spices may actually be more important than the actual currency. All the best recipes use them and other than paying 30g each(on my server) at the AH for them, the only way to get them is through the cooking dailies.

Feast and many (many!) of the green recipes got me to 400 last night. After that, the purchased recipes give you decent skill ups.

Fishing. I was 414 cooking by the time I hit 385 fishing in the fjord.
