Wrath Dailies: The Way to His Heart...
WoW Insider is happy to announce a new series of posts focusing on the daily quests Wrath of the Lich King has to offer. We'll get a few of these out each week until we have a comprehensive library of every daily quest you can do.First up is a fun daily in which you get to mate a Reef Bull and a Reef Cow in the Howling Fjord.
I'll just wait to let the goal of this quest sink in for a minute.
Sunk? Great. Moving on.
This daily will raise your reputation with the Kalu'ak by 500 and give you around 7g. You can get the daily from Anuniaq located at 24, 58 in the Howling Fjord. It is one of the few that will raise your rep with the Kalu'ak, so you'll want to be sure that you complete it every day. You need to be level 70 to complete the daily. If you complete it while leveling it will give you around 20,000 experience.
Before you can do this daily you need to complete Swabbin' Soap from Scuttle Frostprow. And to be able to do that you need to finish the chain of quests from Orfus of Kamagua. So basically to do this daily you need to do everything available around the Ancient Lift in the Howling Fjord.

Once you've unlocked the daily it isn't too hard to do. When you accept the quest from Anuniaq you get a net, Anuniq's Net. Take this net and head to around 34, 68. You'll see schools of Tasty Reef Fish around, pictured above. Stand in (or really close to) the school of fish and use the net. When you've used the net some Tasty Reef Fish will appear in your inventory. You'll want about 10 of these fish for your first mating session, although once you've gotten the hang of it you'll only need 5 or 6 of them.

Once you've collected enough fish head north and look for some Reef Bulls, around 31, 74. Put the Tasty Reef Fish on your action bar so you can easily use them. Target a Reef Bull. Look behind you. See the Reef Cows? Be sure to be showing unit names so you can identify the cows. You're going to walk to them eventually.

Toss a Tasty Reef Fish at the Reef Bull by using the Tasty Reef Fish. The Reef Bull will move towards you. Move back some more towards the Reef Cows. Toss another Tasty Reef Fish. Bull moves towards you. Move back again towards the Cows, rinse and repeat until the Reef Bull is close to a Reef Cow. Soon you'll see some hearts start to appear over the head of the two animals, pictured below. Very much like The Sims.

So now that you've mated the two, head back to Anuniaq and collect your reward. Congratulations, you just mated two blubbery animals.
Don't you feel special, and just a little icky?
New dailies are abound and you'll want to get in on the ground floor to raise those critical reputations up! Check out WoW Insider's continuing series of Wrath of the Lich King daily quests.Filed under: Walkthroughs, Wrath of the Lich King

It's fun until I got ganked by Horde
Belatrix Nov 26th 2008 4:55AM
You can be ganked by your "side" even on PVE server too...
Yesterday some Alliance "colleague" killed all Reef Cows during my Reef Bull luring. I had to wait for respawn.
Zalvi Nov 25th 2008 1:08PM
a little icky

Actually you don't need to be level 70. I was level 69 when I started doing the daily.
Harmun Nov 25th 2008 3:58PM
Also, I don't think I had completed the quests from Orfus of Kamagua... I think I was still working on them when I got this.

If you're not going in any particular order for this feature, I highly recommend covering the "Thrusting Hodir's Spear" quest sooner rather than later. It takes a while to unlock it, but once you do, it's the most epic daily quest ever. Hands down.

I agree. At first I hated the quest. Took me about 6 tries before I fully understood it. Now I go and get the quest done in 2 minutes, and I'm having a great time the entire time.
Matter of fact, as soon as the servers come back up, Imma gonna go drake huntin'.

Yup love those hodir dailies...
Thrusting Hodir's Spear
and
Polishing the Helmet
damn those giants must be lonely, getting it from whomever comes along

Has anyone else noted the slightly sexual overtone to the dailies for the Hodir? "Polishing the Helmet" and "thrusting the Spear"? Just a little wordage that could be re-interpreted...
rhoymand Dec 2nd 2008 12:52PM
@Borkr
don't forget "Blowing Hodir's Horn"
Ice Nov 25th 2008 1:11PM
First I was like "Oh god not some Q&A about dailies again!" but this is cool actually.
No more ask beta tester/the queue going over 100 times "wheres dailies" and "how much they give"(I hope). I guess I have to finish that chain for daily
Horizons Nov 25th 2008 1:12PM
At level 80 this quest rewards the same rep but only 4g60s or something like that. A little less than the other dailies, but well worth it if you want that fishing pole or penguin!
bigdaddyjay Nov 25th 2008 1:11PM
...just be glad this isn't one of those quests with a cinematic ending!
Gemini Nov 25th 2008 1:12PM
If you are a hunter and have a pet, be sure you have it set to passive, not defensive.
While the bull that you throw the fish to becomes green, there are others around it that are yellow and attackable, and WoW seems to consider throwing the fish a combat initiator. My gorilla instantly dashed in and dropped a thunderstomp, grabbing a couple other reef bulls.

Covered in fish grease and mating goo.
I don't think "icky" covers it...
Mastique Nov 25th 2008 2:09PM
"Mating Goo"
ROFL!!!!!!!!!!!
peon47 Nov 25th 2008 1:18PM
Dammit. I've been doing this since day 1, and it's hard enough doing this one at peak times on my realm at the moment... now everyone's going to be there
:P
Enix Nov 25th 2008 1:34PM
The sharks swimming around also drop a fish or two sometimes.
joerendous Nov 25th 2008 1:18PM
that screenshot is playing tricks on me. the walrus seems to have a ginormous head.
