WoW Insider Show Episode 66: Felicia Day and her show

Yes, our podcast is a little early today (due to the holiday, I'm going to be traveling on Saturday, so no live show as usual this week), but we've got a bonus for you anyway: Felicia Day, creator of The Guild and star of Dr. Horrible's Sing-along Blog, joined us to talk about the second season of her web series, which just started up the other day, and the deal they've recently made for Microsoft to show it exclusively on MSN, Zune, and Xbox Live.Since most of our bloggers were out for the holiday this week, it was just me and her, but we had a lot of fun -- there are some good hints in there about new characters coming to join our favorite guildies this season, the third season (!) of the show, and how Felicia is able to get MMO concepts (like "DKP" and the idea of a "guild" itself) across to people who may not play MMOs. And I also got to read some emails and get a little bit of WoW talk in there -- if you'd like to email the show a question or comment for next time, you can do so at theshow@wow.com as always.

Before too much more commentary arrives fromt he peanut gallery (and it will), let' give Felicia Day her props.
The beautiful photo and everything she is doing right now are reflective of a person who wants to break into film and television and isn't waiting around for someone to do her a favour.
I watched all of the Guild for the first time this weekend. It wasn't the greatest thing ever performed. It did show good writing, decent humour, and an understanding of the topic underlying the series. So Felicia did what we should all do to get noticed, write about what we like and what we know and appeal to our own sentiments.
I was a bit bothered the other day by the people who were upset her show would no longer be in a format WI could embed on their pages. Not the point. She just signed a contract to pay the bills. Everyone in her shoes is looking to do that. The real evidence to the nonbelievers is the lengthy credits that come with each 3-5 minutes episode. You don't have film credits like that unless you are trying to do serious business. In California.
Glad to hear she is getting some good profile now for putting in some hard work.

Every time I watch the Guild, I feel slightly guilty that I've stopped watching it for the actual show, and am subconsciously hoping for a sex scene.
I'm probably not though.

Dunno, thought she was pretty in a sort of second look on the street type way.
Then I read a bit more about her and the fact that she actually wrote AND acted in The Guild. She was also in Dr Horrible's Sing Along Blog (and anybody who gets to be within 50 yards of Nathan Fillion gets automatic unlimited cool points).
Once you see what she does BEHIND the scenes as well it's pretty much impossible not to respect her as well.
So yeah, hot AND really intelligent with a sense of humor.
