Apparently the Scarlets are so paranoid that they think everyone not in their ranks is a spy of the Scourge, or a direct member. Still, I'd love to join their ranks. I heard a few people roleplayed as them by setting Argent Dawn to At War and destroying the quest hubs in WPL and EPL, which amounted to griefing. It's too bad Blizzard removed the ability to set At War for factions in BC and WotLK.
