Brew of the Month: Lord of Frost's Private Label

What do this month's brew do? Not a whole lot. Like I said, it cools you down. Really. After drinking it, you can see your character's breath for awhile. Which... you probably won't notice in Northrend at all, because almost the entire continent makes you do that anyway. If you prefer getting your drunk on in Ironforge, this drink is perfect and you can pick some up in the usual places in Orgrimmar and Ironforge. If you're looking for a drink to warm you up on a cold Northrend night, go for a Northrend staple: Mead. It's all over the place up there.
Edit: Apparently this drink can also proc an iceblock that you get locked in for a little while, but in my experience it must be pretty rare? I've gone through a stack and a half of the stuff and haven't had it happen to me yet, but many of our readers have mentioned seeing it. I think the booze is playing favorites.

When I drank mine I was frozen in an ice block like a mage.

i also got an ice block when i drank the bottle sent to me through in-game mail by the brew of the month club. haven't drank any more as of yet, so i dunno how often it happens.

That's not all it does, when I drank mine it stunned me in a case of Ice, similar to the hunter's frost trap, which lasted for about 30 seconds.

The "buff" is easily removed by clicking it off.

Considering I drank a full stack of the stuff and had nothing happen but frosty breath, I find myself underwhelmed with this supposed iceblock. ; )
PimpyMicPimp Dec 1st 2008 7:29PM
Maybe, but I think enough of the comments all saying the same thing warrant a mention in the OP.
Alex Ziebart Dec 1st 2008 7:33PM
Yeah, I'm doing so. : )

Thank you, good sir!

Just so you know if it freezes you, you are able to click the "buff" off. In case you were drinking while raiding...
and really who doesnt?

Anyone else noticing a growing trend of posts lacking in sufficient research?

You're new here, right?

I also got the Ice Block style buff and debuff. Maybe it has a random chance to affect the drinker that way?
Foopangoo Dec 1st 2008 7:25PM
The first brew I drank froze me in a big ice cube. BBRRRRRRR...
pax368 Dec 1st 2008 7:42PM
Confirmed, my first drink i was made into an ice block, it happened in Dalaran so i dont know if the ice block has any in combat effect, but it does last 30 seconds and it can be clicked off.
ROB13 Dec 1st 2008 8:03PM
I was frozen like a month old turkey in the freezer
AlexW573 Dec 1st 2008 8:49PM
First one I drank I got frozen in place, so I didn't have to go buy more to see what it procs as :) (All BotM things seem to proc something)
Kuroiushi Dec 1st 2008 9:24PM
proced the iceblock on me after my second sip
TiM Dec 1st 2008 9:09PM
The icblock has no effect on combat. You still take damage. ALso has no effect on fall damage. Got a few nice pics of my rogue sprinting past the iceblock and kinda just being frozzen in midair and a nice screenie of my iceblock sitting 30 ft in the air while my rogue was on the ground, frozen in place. >.>

It may not affect you in combat, but it does override those annoying items that make everyone in the area dance. Just for that it's a godsend.
