Breakfast Topic: What's your questing style?

I'm generally in the last category myself. There's so much interesting lore and compelling story in Wrath that I don't want to miss risking a questline anywhere I go. Besides, if I finish all the quests, I'm that much closer to becoming a Loremaster, if nothing else. I do mix it up sometimes if I want to head into a zone early to grab a specific quest reward, such as heading into Borean Tundra to get my Axe of Frozen Death before heading back to Howling Fjord, but for the most part, when I head into a zone, I like to get it nice and cleared out from end to end.
How do you quest, and why? Do you fit one of the types above, or do you have another method?

I did every Howling Fjord quest first, then started jumping between zones as I couldn't wait to see more of Northrend, plus I wanted to open some daily quests.
At first I wanted to finish all the quests at each hub I found, but finding groups for the group quests isn't always worth waiting for.
I think questing is about 100x better in this expansion than even in BC. Tons of variety and absolutely no need to grind in order to level.

I have a tank warrior, and I love leveling with him. Previous to the patch just before WOTLK, I was unable to quest with any practicality, but now its no sweat. I can take several mobs at once, and my health bar hardly even fluxuates. I find most of the groups quests in borean to be a sinch alone. sure it takes a few extra moments to drop mobs as prot, but its worht it sincemy health bar doesnt move much at all. I can hardly wait for it to be back up.

I stay in each zone until I have completed the "Complete quests in " achievements. Then move onto the next zone in order of level.

I did this. Started in Howling, then to the Tundra, then Dragonblight, then Grizzly, then ZD about halfway, then shifted to the Basin. Hit 80 in the Basin, so now I working on finishing ZD, then I will just pick the next area that looks cool.

Wringing out each zone till it has nothing else to give. I'm a mostly solo player and have found wrath to be very solo friendly, one or two group quests per zone that are normally easy to grab a group for. The lore is deep and expansive, more so than both vanilla WoW and BC, the iron dwarves in GH were a very nice quest line and give a hint of the next endgame dungeon. And you gotta love werewolf lore, lol.

Last category as well. I can NOT leave a zone before I have gotten the achievement and my log is cleared. I neeeeeeeed closure. And oh my god, it is wonderful! The lore, the quests, I love it all. I don't share all the QQ either about 'OMG I have to torture someone.' 'OMG it is dark here and there is a bit of blood nightmaaaaaares.' To me all the quests are amazing, I am level 79 now and still in Zul'Drak, I haven't even been to the zones beyond that because I want to be surprised long after I have dinged 80.
... great, now I want to play and I am stuck at work, thank you wowinsider! ... srsly

Gah! I feel the same way!
I completed the Fjord first, then moved on to the Tundra. I did maybe two quests in Dragonblight, but my quest log led me to the Grizzly Hills.
I'm almost done with the quests there, and now my two Dragonblight quests are green to me. That's good though, it will go quick to get the Quest Completion achievement.
Dinging 80 before seeing half of Northrend will be awesome.

I did almost the same thing. I completed all of Borean then all of Howling Fjord and then all of Dragonblight. I am currently a little over half done Grizzly Hills and I'm level 78.5. I will likely ding level 80 in the next zone I go to, which will likely be Scholazar.
The only times I leave the zones I am questing in is to do dailies in zones I have already completed, like the Kalu'ak ones, or to do dungeon runs that other people in my guild are doing. That's probably why I'm going to hit 80 before doing half of northrend, but that just means a ton of money and I'll still be enjoying the great questlines long after hitting max level.

I am going Loremaster all the way in Northrend, I get to see all the storyline plus it gives me alot of high level quests available for when I hit 80 so I can get my gold up for epic flight or the mammoth mount.

I'm in the last category myself. I quest in a zone until i get the quest achievement and then move on. I also try and solo everything possible.

I tend to like to clear out a zone before moving on. This is much easier now, I use to skip a lot of quests when they had you going from continent to continent to complete a quest chain, but now they seem pretty contained to one area of a continent. I hated the Linkin one for example.

I'm a tiny bit OCD when it comes to questing, and I definitely fall into the last category (at least on my higher-level toons). I've been finished with my last zone now for a week, but I just can't bring myself to start a new one as I'm still digesting all of the lore.
well, having finals next week doesn't help either...

I'm completely random and easily distracted. I grab quests as I see them and usually do whatever is closest on Carbonite. I do take the time to read the actual quests though.
Hudders Dec 2nd 2008 8:15AM
I tend to quest faster than my friends but I still want to quest with them. This means I've been basically covering all quests in a zone at one time or another.
Currently, I'm soloing Sholazar Basin while popping back to Dragonblight every so often to quest with friends both on quests I've done and quests I have yet to complete.
PS. I think you mean "risk missing" rather than "miss risking". :o)

I'm actually a big "Have to finish the quests in a zone." person myself. Especially since I'm up to 2000 quests and just 1000 more for the title of "the seeker"! I'm so giddy!
ROB13 Dec 2nd 2008 8:19AM
I'm the last one too! Halfway through the Fjord, and took a turtle boat to Borean and spent most of my time questing there. I think Borean had a more variety of different quests, but I just had to finish Fjord after looking at that plain, ugly, Tundra, and I actually got the questing achievement!

I am a completionist/perfectionist and I must complete every quest in every zone. It is pathological. Two zones down.
There is a system of quests per area that Blizzard uses and then you can move on. There are also areas in the middle of nowhere that contract for work, those are the hard ones to not miss.

I meet up with a few people from my guild every night, and we quest as a group. If we're missing folks, I grind rep factions outside of Northrend. We're porgressing slowly and enjoying the content. I never had this much fun in Outland.
Also, persons that make a post JUST to claim to be first (or 6th like poor Urosh above, who didn't even get his number right), should not have access to the internet or automobiles.
Brady Dec 2nd 2008 11:24AM
I think Urosh was probably 6th when he posted, but replies to comments pushed him further down. However, I agree with you 100% that those type of people are really annoying!
