I did almost the same thing. I completed all of Borean then all of Howling Fjord and then all of Dragonblight. I am currently a little over half done Grizzly Hills and I'm level 78.5. I will likely ding level 80 in the next zone I go to, which will likely be Scholazar.
The only times I leave the zones I am questing in is to do dailies in zones I have already completed, like the Kalu'ak ones, or to do dungeon runs that other people in my guild are doing. That's probably why I'm going to hit 80 before doing half of northrend, but that just means a ton of money and I'll still be enjoying the great questlines long after hitting max level.
