Wrath Dailies: Planning for the Future
In the daily quest "Planning for the Future" you need to help maintain the balance of life with the Wolvar near Moa'ki Harbor. The Kalu'ak are afraid they're going to kill too many Wolvar, so you're going to ensure they live on and steal some young Snowfall Glade Pups. The quest itself isn't too complicated, but it can be a royal pain if more than one other person is doing it at the same time you are.
Quest Giver: Trapper Mau'i, Moa'ki Harbor, Southern Dragonblight
Reputation: Kalu'ak
Reward: 500 rep & 4.86g at level 80
Minimum Level: 71
Required Chain: None!
Read on after the break for our walkthrough of the quest, complete with a few tricks you can do to get it done quickly and easily.
Start out by talking to Trapper Mau'i to get the quest. He's located at 48, 74 in southern Dragonblight at the Moa'ki Harbor. He tasks you with going around and picking up 12 of the Snowfall Glade Pups. These guys are located to the north. There are a series of three huts around 45, 61 that have a bunch walking around.Once you go up there you'll want to get next to a pup and move your mouse over the little guy. Right click it to pick it up and put it in your bag. Do not attack it. Do not do any AoE or anything else. If you do, these guys will go away.
There are numerous Wolvar around that don't take kindly to you stealing their young. They are all around level 71 or so, and if you're level 80 chances are you can successfully ignore them. They will attack you, but this doesn't stop you from being able to pickup the pups.On my 80 Warrior, I just go around and grab them, getting bashed on by whatever mobs I pickup along the way. I lose about 5,000 health by the time I'm done, but with around 26,000 unbuffed it really doesn't matter too much. Other classes may have some issues. But even if you need to kill a couple surrounding mobs they go down pretty fast.

Do a loop around the three villages to pickup the animals and head back to Trapper Mau'i to turn in the quest.
One thing to note is that these guys don't have a very fast respawn timer. So if you're there and others are around expect to wait a while. This area, even on PvE servers, can be laden with PvP seekers and griefers. So mind your AoE and your targets.
New dailies are abound and you'll want to get in on the ground floor to raise those critical reputations up! Check out WoW Insider's continuing series of Wrath of the Lich King daily quests.Filed under: How-tos, Walkthroughs, Quests, Factions

to quote the fat guy from austin powers "GET IN MY BELLY!!!!!"

Baby stealing is SO easy as a rogue. Sap the adult snowfall glade npc in the middle of your pups, pick up any you can get your hands on, restealth and move on. If you don't have epic flying, it'll take you longer to travel to the actual spot of the daily than it does to actually DO the daily.

That is exactly what I do, kinda sick actually the wolvar mother wakes up and all her babys are gone, it's like wtf?
Hank Dec 2nd 2008 1:11PM
Yeah, this quest bothered me.
Step 1-Kill the parents
Step 2-Kidnap the now-orphaned children
Step3-Repeat
I wonder if the Tuskarr diet includes something more than fish.

I've been wondering the same thing...once I'm done getting my new fishing pole and penguin pet I'm going to avoid these pedophilic walrus men. Their other two dailys are far less disturbing...maybe it's just something about the Dragonblight.

LOL
First time I did it I had the exact same idea.
"So I made them orphans and then gave them to people fighting their race. Man, between this and helping the Forsaken develop a plague that can kill EVERYTHING I kinda think maybe my moral compass got demagnetized..."

Pro Tip: Druids can pick up the pups while in flight form.
EZ-Mode!

Kill the revealer of our class secrets! :P

As a low level (73) who is not a druid, it has been very irritating having these ninjaed from me by said druids, both NE and Tauren. I have had this happen to me on the Kaskala supplies quest as well. The respawns aren't bad enough for it to be a huge deal, but I'm surprised my own faction, alliance, would ninja quest items from their own faction. Oh well, karma sucks...

Pro-fession tip: Tailors can also pick up the pups while riding their Flying Carpet or Magnificent Flying Carpet.
Blake Dec 2nd 2008 2:01PM
Note you can pick up the babies while in combat. It enrages the parents, but it's worth it to prevent people from coming by and stealing the babies you're fighting for (which has happened on more than one occasion to me).

DUDE! Now everyone is going to QQ that druids are OP because they can pup-nap in flight form.
Some things are best left unsaid :D

Man I am a Druid and Now I know I can steal your babies and FLY away..... This quest is messed up and I bet they are going to eat the little guys :( Stupid fat Fraction! OH MAN THAT'S WHY THERE FAT!!!!!
Angel Dec 2nd 2008 1:12PM
This quest freaks me out... but that fishing pole is sweet! Just two more days of and I can stop helping these blubber butts!
Eric Dec 2nd 2008 1:14PM
After going to Sholazar I really can't say it bothers me in the least bit as to what I'm doing. Wolvar are just plain mean.
Omega Dec 2nd 2008 1:15PM
I really do hope one day they nerf druid flight form, it has forever been over powered, netherwing races comes to mind. everyone else gets knocked off they die, druid just goes back into flight form and continues on. Druids ninja'd more quest items than i can count in flight form while I was killing stuff in SMV.
elly Dec 2nd 2008 1:21PM
i'd have to agree - it doesn't seem right that they can do all of these things so easily. isn't it cool enough that they don't need mounts? (i know, i know, i can go QQ more...)
it's also not so bad as a hunter, either - your pet just attacks 'em while you grab wee pups from certain death!
Ryan Dec 2nd 2008 2:30PM
This isn't always true. Most quest items require us to have landed on the ground prior to interaction, or simply shift us out of form. It is the rare 'bugged' quest item that allows us to interact while flying.
h8rain Dec 2nd 2008 2:45PM
Its because you "loot" the pups. If enough people whine about it, then Blizzard will probably change it to use item "gear" which like Ryan said, kicks us out of flight form.
You can QQ all you want, just wait like another week till I am exalted.
