Arena season 4 over, season 5 to begin December 17th
Gnorog on the EU forums posted notice a while ago that Season 4 is over. That means that all arena teams and ratings have been cleared, and arena charter NPCs have been disabled.Your arena points will stay with you until you reach level 71 however.
But the end of Season 4 isn't the news.
Season 5 will begin on December 17th for those players that have reached level 80. That's just a few days away. For those that haven't, the skirmish brackets of 71-75 and 76-80 are available. The time is now to start organizing your arena teams and get them in gear for the upcoming events.
With all the changes in Wrath the next arena season promises to be interesting. Here's to bigger and better weapons! /cheers

this question bugs me all the time: will the savage gladiator gear be available at that day?

Did I miss something, or is this article three weeks late? I was under the impression, based upon the post linked (Posted on November 8th), that S4 ended three weeks ago, not next week.

Season 4 was put on hiatus, but not officially ended. People hadn't gotten any rewards yet -- this says they'll get them during maintenance next week.

Forgive me for pressing, but where does it say that? The post linked in the article says only "During next Wednesday's maintenance on November 12th, all arena teams, as well as ratings, will be wiped and arena charter NPCs disabled." It's talking about the November 12th maintenance, as far as I see. There was no additional post made, and that is the only reference in that thread to S4's end, I believe. It is my belief that the forum moderation simply updated the post and flagged it as new, as a reminder of S5's start, not to talk about S4's end.

Also, as another quick note, S4 rewards, title and drakes, were given out a while ago, if that's what you're referring to by "People hadn't gotten any rewards yet."

I guess I'll give Arena's a try...until they remove them.
Some things that shold be added. Dec. 17th isn't a few days away. It's 2 weeks!
Plus, if you are serious about PvP, I'm sure you all have been raiding The Vault back when it resets everyday, and even still now, since the 25-man drops class specific Hatefull. I think it's set to 3 days now?

Few days, couple weeks...pot-ay-to, pot-ah-to....
jbodar Dec 4th 2008 9:21PM
He didn't specify Earth-standard days? I got nothin.

Point to those who can figure out how I got them.

I'm actually going to give Arenas a go this time. Last time, I only did a few Arenas to get my Hunter axe. I'm not expecting to be fully decked out in new arena gear, but I do hope I'd do well.

All my arena teams were deleted at some point between installing the expansion and hitting level 80 (I didn't delete them, they were wiped by the game) - no charters are available now to set up a new team - Arena is strictly "skirmishes" right now, nothing more... so how is season 4 "just ending"? How would anyone still get rewards as of maintenance next week? Is that only for lvl 70 players or something?
This article makes no sense.

Lol, another fail for Adam today.

I've re-read the article a few times and I think, if I understand correctly, what this article is trying to say is;
Arena S4 was actually ongoing for awhile after XPac but ONLY assuming you remained at level70. If you dinged 71 your teams were wiped (but not your points). No charters were available to you but you COULD enter skirmishes in two brackets (71-75 & 76-80). Oh by the way; the start date for Arena S5 is December 17th.
Assuming I understand correctly, what I've written above is a much more succinct and - frankly (sorry Adam) - understandable way of conveying this story... which doesn't really seem like a story. We've known for a while now that the new Arena season would be December 17th... so was this a "slow news day" sort of thing or what?
