Storm Peaks daily quests reward a polar bear mount

Completing these quests opens up a daily quest you can do when you return to Brunnhildar Village, though you don't get to do all of them every day. It seems only one or two of them are available per day, and which ones you get is random, like the Cooking daily quests. If they don't seem to be offering you a quest at all one day, you probably haven't unlocked the one that happens to be that day's quest. The following are the four quests you need to do first:
And the daily quests they unlock:
Completing these daily quests rewards you with the most fickle item in the world: Hyldnir Spoils. Along with a few gold, you can either get a little bit of food/water, some snowballs, or you can get a super awesome mount (with a 1% droprate). Hmm, do I hope for the super worthless reward, or the super awesome one? Oh boy, I hope I get the food!

I was lucky enough to get the polar bear mount the first day, off my second bag. It should be noted that for whatever reason, this bear is only about 2/3 the size of all other bear mounts.

That could be because its the same model as the one you use in the quest, which gets scaled by 2/3 when you are in the hyldnir form (like other mounts).

I got the bear mount today, it looks better than the brown and the black ones :)

Everyone should do all the quests in Brunnhildar Village because they are the awesome!
PeeWee Dec 5th 2008 1:43PM
If they hadn't given the mounts those silly hats, they could have been cool. Now they're just plain retarded.

Every time I see the brown bears with these masks, it makes me think of two different things: Scarlet Monastary Torture rooms and S &M for bears. Weird.

I agree that these bears look dumb with there little mask/armor covering their heads.
For me I'll be sticking with my ZA War Bear (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=33809)

They also look like Ewoks. o.O

The Amani bear looks like a turtle. You can't say it's any better.

I haven't got to this part yet, even though I've hit 80. I'm hoping to start these quests come this weekend.

I too have gotten the mount the first day in my second bag. Three other people on my realm have gotten it that day as well, since then I have not heard of people getting it, maybe some sort of glitch with the droprates that awarded the mount lots more the first day?
Lemons Dec 5th 2008 1:46PM
wtf? I've done all of those prequests yet I still only have 2 of the 4 dailies, hmmm...
Gemski Dec 5th 2008 1:49PM
You can only do 2, its random...like the article said.

I think a better comparison is the Oracle or Frenzyheart daily quests. The cooking daily is the same mechanism as plenty of other dailies (dungeon, heroic, fishing, JC). The Sholazar ones pull a few from a pool each day, like seems to be the case here.

I loved those quests, but they really made me wish Hyldnir were a playable race. Their casting animations are so damn cool.

I was lucky and had my first daily give it to me. Not a Time-Lost Proto Drake, but still not bad to cruise around Dalaran on.

I had some mixed feelings, including my amusement at their lack of a mining animation (they stand there dead with the pick in their hand and then bam! loot ore) and my dismay that my scrawny little elf boy was suddenly a giantess. He was thoroughly baffled at some of the, er, additions and subtractions to his body, and he's getting sort of sick of everyone turning him into a woman all the time (obviously a female Vrykul wouldn't have passed in Brunhildar Village, but the Black Dragonflight ambassador turned him into a human female cultist in Dragonblight and he's still a bit ticked.)

Grrr...
I'm trying to hold off on Storm Peaks because the people I normally play with are far behind me in content (I'm already 80) and since I've done 2/3 of Icecrown, I wanted to have a zone that we can do quests in together.
But between this, hunting for the Time-Lost Proto-Drake and the rep rewards for The Sons of Hodir, I'm feeling awfully tempted to cheat...

Ive dont them every day since like the 4th day after release (was the first 80 DK on my realm, so I was already trucking through storm peaks at the time) and Ive yet to get a polar bear :( RNG is RNG tho...
