I totally agree with the awesomeness of frostfire, however, I was wondering if 20/50/0 build with fireball as the main cast would out dps frostfire? as you will gain mana, focus magic and 6% extra damage through spell impact. Not sure about this tho, so please can you help me out?

Frostfire is my spec now (similar to that spec you posted) apart from, flame throwing (which i don’t understand why you put it) I have world in flame instead (for extra crit: pyro and living bomb)

Flame throwing is useful so that the other fire spells you'll be casting can match (or come close to) Frostfire Bolt's range. A 40 yard range is useless when you have to move a full 10 yards closer to start your Scorch debuff, or that Pyro that just procced is 5 yards short.

My understanding is that no, it won't out DPS an elementalist build. Why? Because of all the frost talents that increase the damage of frost spells. Since FFB is affected by both of those talents, they all affect it, where arcane talents almost universally specify Arcane spells.
