Wrath Dailies: Cheese for Glowergold
I don't get the cheese in game. It's everywhere. I get that there are people operating a cheese shop in Stormwind as part of their cover, but everything else? There's something about Dalaran and its cheeses. My particularly favorite cheese at the moment is Gouda Cheese which originated from the Netherlands. It's better than the cheese they sell and produce in Dalaran. And it's also, you know, real.
But enough about this "reality" thing. Let's focus on the cooking daily quest where you have to make your own cheese platter.
Quest Giver: Awilo Lon'gomba (Horde) or Katherine Lee (Alliance)
Reputation: Kirin Tor
Reward: 150 rep, 9.9g at level 80, a Dalaran Cooking Award, a Small Spice Bag
Minimum Level: 65
Required Chain: Cooking at 375 or above.
Read on after the break for our walkthrough of the quest, complete with a few tricks you can do to get it done quickly and easily.
Pickup the quest in Dalaran from either Awilo Lon'gomba located at 70, 38 if you're Horde, or from Katherine Lee located at 40, 65 if you're Alliance.
To complete this quest you'll need to get six Half Full Dalaran Wine Glasses and one block of Aged Dalaran Limburger. Prepare to run around in circles, a lot.

The Half Full Wine Glasses are one of those items that spawns at a bunch of locations around Dalaran which you'll need to go and find. They're pretty much everywhere, but they're also farmed everywhere. The best place that I've found to pick these up is in bedrooms on the second floor of most buildings. It seems everyone in Dalaran is a wine drinker and likes to top off before bedtime.
Another good place to go searching for them is in the sewers. You can find them on the bar and tables located in the sewers, and since the area is usually less busy than the upper side of Dalaran, you might have a bit more luck.
Perhaps the best trick is to just do this quest at a time when not a lot of people are on. That way you can go around and pick them up really quick.

The other component to this quest is the Dalaran Limberger. This is a block of cheese that you need to pick up. You can find it on a shelf at the store "One More Glass" located in Dalaran. It has a quick respawn timer, so it shouldn't be too much of a problem to get.
Combine all of them by using the shield looking quest item in your inventory, the Empty Cheese Serving Platter. Deliver to the quest to Ranid Glowergold in the Magus Commerce Exchange located at 36, 28 and you're golden (or should we say you're cheddar /rimshot).
Side Note: Upon asking our resident Lore Nerd Alex Ziebart about cheese in our WoW Insider chat last night, he told me that the only real significance cheese had was with the Trias Family of assassins. He thinks cheese is just food, albeit a delicious food.
New dailies abound and you'll want to get in on the ground floor to raise those critical reputations up! Check out WoW Insider's continuing series of Wrath of the Lich King daily quests.Filed under: Cooking, Walkthroughs, Quests

My least favorite of the cooking dailies, as it takes forever to get what you need. Respawn rate is very slow as well. I hope Blizz changes this one
Eddy Dec 8th 2008 3:13PM
Actually, its my favorite. I must be doing it on a low pop server or at strange times, but its the only one that doesn't cut into my Chilled Meat supply, and it goes pretty fast.
Jason Dec 8th 2008 3:16PM
I'd have to agree, this one is a pain...although it requires no Chilled Meat. My next least favorite is the Sewer Stew quest since it seems like there are only 2 Crystalsong Carrots growing in all of Crystalsong Forest (maybe I'm not looking hard enough).
Kcrash Dec 8th 2008 3:23PM
@Jason. There are quite a few along the river directly below Dalaran, at least there were when I did the stew quest this weekend. (they also show up on your tracker if you happen to be an herbalist, if this helps at all)
Fish Dec 8th 2008 3:11PM
If you need a walkthrough on this your as dumb as a box of rocks. The only daily cooking quest that even needs a little explination is the one where you have to go down out of the city and get the carrots because you actually have to find the spawn location.

This is just Adam, working his way through explaining the cooking dailies. Apparently it is a slow day.
WTF WoWInsider, get rid of this guy. He never writes anything of substance. It's always stupid shit, that never needs a whole article dedicated to it.
the command for finishing the cooking daily is:
/rollfaceacrosskeyboard

HOW I MINE FOR CHEESE
SaintStryfe Dec 8th 2008 3:14PM
Wine and cheese? Sounds like the start of a really good fondue.
Fluffywumpki of Dethecus Dec 8th 2008 3:15PM
I'm with @Fish . The Cooking dailies are dead simple, and can be summed up with Have Chilled Meat And Rhino Meat Handy, Run Around Dalaran Looking For Sparklies OR Go Down To Crystalsong And Look For Sparklies Near The River

What's the point of the minimum level being 65, when you can't even get to Northrend, let alone Dalaran, until 68?
Dracula Jones Dec 8th 2008 3:36PM
I have something like 23 cooking awards at this point and still have not gotten this daily. Not complaining, I rejoice when I see Infused Mushroom Meatloaf day after day. I can finish that in about 3 minutes.
Dave Dec 8th 2008 3:37PM
You can go to Northrend whenever you want. My 63 Shaman took the blimp juuuuuust fine. Haven't tried a portal to Dalaran, but I don't see how that could be a problem.
Also, the required skill for the cooking dailies is 350, not 375.
offday Dec 8th 2008 3:39PM
I thought you couldn't go to Northrend until 68? You're telling me I could just take the boat over, no problems at all? I'm alliance.
Is it just that I can't do any quests until 68 or something? Cause with BC you had to be 58 to even enter, unless you got a mage to teleport you.
Kylenne Dec 8th 2008 5:38PM
Offday, you can be level 1 and get on the boat, as far as I can tell. I took my hunter alt to Valiance at level 62 to learn Grand Master skinning.
Dharon Dec 8th 2008 3:41PM
I feel sorry for the dwarf.
Here you go, have a bottle of gobbed-in wine with some cheese we were too poor to buy. Its probably off.
What did this guy do, skip out on a check?
Masarah Dec 8th 2008 3:41PM
Sorry that this is OT but as an avid reader of WowInsider and frequent commenter, I'm wondering if there is a way to change the password I have to use when commenting?
I cant find anything on the site for this.
Twystid Dec 8th 2008 4:22PM
Re: changing your password.
If you click on your name in the comment you just left, you should be routed to a page that shows your Account's recent comments and such.
On the right side of the page is a dark grey box with your avatar and, underneath, a link that says "Are you ------- ? If so, click here!"
If you "click here!" then you will be brought to an account management page, where you can change your password.
It is indeed one of the worst things about this site (which is otherwise very good!) that it's so hard to manage your account. Luckily, there's really not much to manage aside from your password.
Masarah Dec 8th 2008 4:33PM
Yay, got it now.
Thanks
On the subject of cheese - its good in burgers but otherwise I'm generally opposed to cheese rights.
GormanGhaste Dec 8th 2008 6:27PM
Thanks, Twystid--making a comment just so I can access my account page!
Hobbes Dec 8th 2008 6:51PM
Same here -- not sure why they didn't include a "login" or "account management" link during the site redesign.
