Ranking your new loot
Our good friend Kestrel reminds you that as you're leveling up and getting all this new gear, there are quite a few good tools out there to let you know what's what in terms of what gear is best for you. Lootrank is the one Kestrel mentions most -- you can put in your own stats and check off which ones are most important to you, and it'll recommend and rate your gear from there. We've got our own list of other sites which will help, too -- Kaliban's great class loot lists (at wow-loot.com) have been all updated for Wrath, and of course ShadowPanther has lots of Rogue updates as well (though DruidWiki doesn't appear to be completely updated yet).MaxDPS.com is a very popular site for seeking and tracking gear upgrades as well, and I remain a fan of the simplicity of Gear Wishlist -- it doesn't get any easier than tossing your info into a form and having the site spit a huge list of gear options at you, based on the rankings from mulitple other sites.
But no matter how you do it, there are plenty of ways to figure out which way to head for your next upgrade. There's a whole continent of new gear out there -- go get some.

Use these sites to get an idea of gear you want to evaluate. Shadowpanther is another gear list for Rogues. Definitely don't use their advice to make final decisions, because static values can never be accurate for more than a single piece of gear upgrade. These are only ideas, items to put on an "evaluate" list, not something to spend DKP or badges on.
Go to Elitist Jerks forum for your class and get the spreadsheet. Put in your own gear, talents, gems, enchants, and typical raid/group buffs first to get a baseline, and then change pieces of gear one at a time from your "evaluate" list, to see the real value. Often, the sites are reasonably good, but it's not uncommon for them to be way off on some things.
The Rogue spreadsheet is great, barring a potential lowering of the special hit cap for bosses from 9% to 8% which is still being tested. The Hunter spreadsheet seems to rely more on WWS parses than actual scientific testing, but it's still more accurate than the other websites. I have no experience with the sheets for other classes.
It would be a shame to follow the advice from these sites and waste DKP or badges on gear that turns out to be worse than what you have.
