I just got back into WoW about a month ago after quitting three years ago; played from January 2005 to November 2005. My nostalgic story? Earning a ram mount for my main (NE hunter) using only the cloth turn-in reputation, not out of a sense of challenge but because there was no other way to earn reputation at 60!
I quit before I got my fast land mount, but I had already felt I had a mount that was "epic."
Imagine my disgust at the guildie who retorted "Not so big deal but grats lol" when I announced that I finally bought my Swift White Ram...

You wanted a Ram? So I'm guessing u were getting ur rep up with Ironforge.
Sry to burst your bubble but turning in cloth is not the only way to level up with IF. If you were to head over to the dwarven starting zone and do all their quests and then probably some quests in Loch Modan that would give you more than rep than you'd need to get exalted (assuming you've done enough quests for the alliance already which give you a small amount of rep with every alli city).

Fail. If you'd played the game pre-BC you'd probably know that old low level quests didn't give the full rep they do now. Cloth was the ONLY way.
