Wrath Dailies: Sewer Stew
Stew is good. Put some vegetables, meat, broth, and a few other chunks of whatever you have laying around your home into a pot and cook it for a few hours. Pour it into a dish and sprinkle some salt and pepper on top, perhaps add a side of saltine crackers. You've got yourself a great dish for those cold Northrend days.In the daily cooking quest Sewer Stew you're going to deliver some stew to Ajay Green located in the sewers of Dalaran.
Quest Giver: Awilo Lon'gomba (Horde) or Katherine Lee (Alliance)
Reputation: Kirin Tor
Reward: 150 rep, 9.9g at level 80, a Dalaran Cooking Award, a Small Spice Bag
Minimum Level: 65
Required Chain: Cooking at 375 or above.
Read on after the break for our walkthrough of the quest, complete with a few tricks you can do to get it done quickly and easily
Pickup the quest in Dalaran from either Awilo Lon'gomba located at 70, 38 if you're Horde, or from Katherine Lee located at 40, 65 if you're Alliance.
You're tasked with picking up 4 Chilled Meats and 4 Crystal Song Carrots and putting them together in a Cookpot.
The Chilled Meats are hopefully part of a large supply of them that you've saved up from your adventuring and farming. You'll need a lot of them for all the cooking quests.
The Crystal Song Carrots can be retrieved from the Crystal Song forest in the zone below Dalaran. Head over to landing pad or use the tri-force (err...crystal) in Runeweaver Square to get down the ground.

The carrots themselves will be sparkling overhead so they shouldn't be too hard to pick up. They do show up on the mini-map if you're tracking herbs.Once you have all the carrots and meat, you'll need use the Cookpot you got from the quest giver and turn the resulting food into Ajay Green in the sewers of Dalaran for your Dalaran Cooking Award and a Small Spice Bag.

What did Blizz do with the Chilled Meat drop rates? When I first started questing in Northrend on release day, I was getting chilled meats from all beasts at a crazy rate. I had something like 50 from just a few hours in the Borean. I was even using my tankadin to AoE grind the shoveltusks for the meat to make spellpower steak and they too dropped the chilled meat.
Sometime after the first week of the expansion, it seems that if a beast drops a specific kind of meat (shoveltusk, rhino, mammoth, worg) they no longer drop the chilled meat. Where are you finding your chilled meat Sinthar?
Fluffywumpki of Dethecus Dec 15th 2008 2:53PM
@Robert M Blizzard updated the drop tables through a hotfix. The mob specific meat drop rates were horrible. Chilled meat wasn't supposed to have been dropping as much as it was.

...they do actually show up on the mini map if you're tracking herbs.

"They do not show up on the mini-map if you're tracking herbs."
They've always shown up on my minimap, your herb tracking is broken :-)

Not sure how carrots will be 'sparkling overhead' tbh. Ive always found them in the ground. From the portal (stone thingy) head to the river, opposite side, to your right there will be some ruins - usually get all 4 from around there, although there scattered around the place. Not many mobs - nice quick n easy token tbh
Will Dec 15th 2008 11:13AM
I think he means when flying over head, you can look down and see them sparkling on the ground.
But yeah...this article is full of grammar hiccups as well as outright inaccuracies. Proofread, Holisky, do you speak it?

I found the carrots to be hard to find at first...this is #3 on the list for the ones I like, the least favorite being the convention one...i have tons of rhino meat so mustard dogs are easy and you don't have to leave dalaran...and the wine and cheese is the easiest!

BTW anyone know if anything except Northern spices, old spice, baby spice and the rare cooking token drop from the small spice bag? Im sort of hoping that the missing recipes are not gonna start being a 'drop' from a bag, but it would be nice for the cooks to get something nice from it, rather than the same cruddy spices. And hopefully not gonna continue in the 'spice girls' theme, although some 'scarey spice' to make ure opponent run away in fear may be cool, and im sure sporty spice (plus str/agi/health type thing) would work too
Will Dec 15th 2008 12:04PM
Only Baby Spice is named after a Spice Girl, Old Spice is a brand of aftershave / deodorant.
And there's a chance of getting the blue Outland cooking recipes in the Spice Bag, such as Delicious Chocolate Cake, if you missed them pre-LK.
toby311 Dec 15th 2008 7:58PM
i got a blue cooking recipe to teach the delicious chocolate cake.
SnippyMcPhail Dec 15th 2008 11:21AM
I believe you also can get a recipe for Delicious Chocolate Cake.... it makes you VERY Happy apparently.....
And I've never seen this quest... I've been pretty good about doing the cooking quest every day too. I always end up picking mustard seeds from the beer garden!
Thander Dec 15th 2008 11:34AM
Yes, that can happen rarely on some realms.
For instance, our realm just got A Cleansing Song (oracle) yesterday for the first time since Wrath came out. I heard a lot of Oracle achievements going off yesterday hehe.

This one's super easy, even if you're not in your mid-70s. The carrots are along the river to the east, and the wolves are spread out. All the other mobs won't aggro unless you want them to.
I'd rather take my chance with being eaten by wolves (which I can and did outrun) than have to grind 12 chilled meats for the Legerdomain Lounge daily. That one's quickly getting old.
JPN Dec 15th 2008 11:30AM
Agreed, however, check your AH - there's enough of it out there, and enough non-cookers, that it's selling for 2g a stack on Undermine. That's cheap and worth it, and when you get all your recipes you can skip it if it's not worth the mats/cash...
Ahoni Dec 15th 2008 1:19PM
@JPN
Economies vary. Chilled meat sells for 10g for a stack of 5 on my server.
Jon Dec 15th 2008 1:27PM
Woah.
On Rexxar-US, Chilled Meat goes for over 1g apiece (over 20g/stack).
Frodo58 Dec 15th 2008 11:40AM
JPN - You're on undermine? Sweet! So am I. What's your dudes name?
Cornballer Dec 15th 2008 11:58AM
Whoa Whoa Whoa. Theres still plenty of meat on that bone. You take this home, throw it in a pot, add some broth, a potato. Baby, You got a stew goin'!
Nimangma Dec 15th 2008 12:13PM
Carl Weathers ftw. Cornballer just made my Monday.
