Ummmm.....You have to be a retard to wipe on this boss.It really is simple. Everyone stacks in to there minimum possible range and DPS's as hard as the possibly can while the healer goes on a healing frenzy.I have done this boss with every different healer in the game and never wiped once.Makes me sad how clueless some people are.

Wow, if only the rest of us were as cool and knowledgeable as you are. We all envy your uberness. Keep up the good work.
12-16-2008 @ 11:16AM
then a good number of people are "retards"...and you must the like, super awesome. gg, collect your trophy.
Why all the hate towards players. Some people just need to learn the encounter. Might take someone a bit longer than usual.

Makes me sad how arrogant some people are...

I assume you play WoW in the spare time you have between the Nobel Prizes you win, don't you?

Talk all the crap you want on me. It is one of the easiest end bosses of any heroic in the game EVER. There is no randomness to what happens. There is no "trick" to it. If you wipe on it once fine. But one wipe should be enough to realize what you need to do. Love all the hate though. L2play and stop the hating!

One of the easiest bosses EVER, huh? I'm sorry, I thought you were talking about Heroic HoL. I forget that some people still think that doing regular 5-man dungeons are uber.

While he may have been a bit harsh, it does make me wonder about WoW players. For everyone calling new WoW easy you have a simple encounter like this that everyone has a hard time on. I actually don't think GC should have posted tips on the fight at all. They didn't do it when everyone was wiping on Ony for months.Players are getting worse, they want to stand in one spot and aoe everything.
12-16-2008 @ 12:26PM
This guy calls everyone retards then explains the "tactic" is to stand next to each other and do lots of healing and damage."DPS's as hard as the possibly can""healing frenzy"So he is brute forcing the encounter then calling anyone that tried to use clever strategies (like the developer quoted above) retards? I think the point of the article is that people like the poster above have been having trouble with the boss because they have tried to just dps/heal through it and not learn the mechanics of the encounter itself. Sure if you have enough dps/healing you might be able to do that, but if you don't it does not make you a retard to use your brain instead of your gear. Quite the opposite.

Moving away from the boss increases the aura damage he does so your healer has to move and heal. Basic fact, 80% of wow players cant manage to move out of the way of incoming AoE. Why bother forcing people to have to use that tactic when you clearly don't need to?If you wanna use the more technical tactic of moving away then prepare to lose people. No, I have no faith in WoW players to be smart enough to see when a boss is casting an AoE spell. Why do u think this boss kills so many people? Duh!You think people like me have been having a hard time DPSing and healing through the damage? WTF? Are you clueless? Its the easiest way to kill this boss. The damage isn't all that bad anyways. Any healer geared enough to be doing heroics can top off everyone before the next cast.People try to over think boss fights. Its as easy as that.

Basic Fact: 80% of all quoted facts are made up.Glad we got you here to do the number crunching for us.

In my experience, a lot of people try to make clever plans for simple fights, maybe because they can't do the same simple thing over and over again for 3 minutes without losing focus. I'm sure that the Occulus boss would be the winner over Loken if falling off your drake and splattering/zoning out counted as a Laykeeper kill.

Phoulmouth, the thing you have to understand is that bad play is celebrated on wowinsider. It's like the streak of anti-intellectualism that runs through the USA today, where people are viewed with suspicion and hostility for being well-educated. Here, people are viewed with suspicion and hostility for being good player, or even for aspiring to be good players.

The Claw:We don't hate intellectuals. Far from it. Good players helping bad players is a very good thing. We hate the elitism mentality: I can do it in one go, so you should too, and you're a dumbass if you can't do it.Those two things are very different.

What escapes people like The Claw and Phoulmouth is that they are the retards. You address people in such a way, get shot down, and it is because of the fact that you are oozing intelligence? Suuuuuuuuuure, way to always be the winner. Maybe it is of the fact that you waltz in here, pretend like everyone's a loser and you're the sh*t, while you have proven nothing. Oooh, the encounter is piss easy for you? Well congratulations, this must mean that you are in the top percentile of skilled WoW players, IT MUST BE. Because you come here with published statistics right? You know, the one you claim as fact? I'll do the same, 99% of people on the internetzzz are full of crap. For all we know, you don't even have a lvl80, but no, you must have one, because talking down to people makes you uber?I am sure there are many many things in the game that you find hard, while others have no problem with them. Does that make you a retard? no, but many other things do. /golflcap

LOL! QQ QQ QQ QQLearn to play.Apparently some people suck so freaking bad that a DEV was forced to put up boss strats for a boss in there game. That is ridiculous. End of story! Its bad enough that any noob in blue gear can now walk into heroics and clear them. In BC heroics were actually hard for the most part. Now there a goddamn joke. You have guilds already fully clearing all of the current raid instances. WTF?If not for all you "retards" and "casuals" there would still be challenged in the game for people who actually want them.If Ulduar isn't actually a challenge you are going to see a lot of people abandon WoW. No, I won't be one of them. HaHa!And quite frankly anyone who doesn't like my opinion can feel free to post there own. But I don't give a damn either so its falling on deaf ears.
