So he is brute forcing the encounter then calling anyone that tried to use clever strategies (like the developer quoted above) retards?

I think the point of the article is that people like the poster above have been having trouble with the boss because they have tried to just dps/heal through it and not learn the mechanics of the encounter itself. Sure if you have enough dps/healing you might be able to do that, but if you don't it does not make you a retard to use your brain instead of your gear. Quite the opposite.
