You know you play too much WoW if...
I admit it. I play too much WoW. That's alright, if you're visiting this site, you probably do, too. I have found it interesting how WoWisms have made it into my everyday life. I'm not talking about weird things like naming a kid Onyxia or getting plastic surgery to look like a Blood Elf. Some WoW habits just become normal. So here goes, you might play too much WoW if:...words like gank, pwn, and aggro have made it into your regular vocabulary.
... you find yourself hitting your push-to-talk key to the person next to you, on the phone, or any other place that's not Vent.
... You've had nightmares that involve Death Knights, Murlocs, or *shudder* Gnome Rogues.... you think of your errand day in terms of a quest log.
... you think of gifts for your friends and family as rep turn-ins, and you're hoping for epic lootz under the Christmas tree.
... you secretly wish that playing the stock market was as easy as the auction house.
... when none of your friends want to do something IRL, you seriously consider PUGging it. (BTW, anybody want to go to a Griffin's game?)
... You're so spoiled by in-game camera controls that when watching TV or Movies you long to be able to pan and zoom.
... You find yourself shouting Leeeeeeroy! when you're nowhere near a computer.
It's not always a bad thing. Here's a little secret about me: prior to rolling Tauren, I didn't know how to do The Hustle. Come on, admit it, you're probably guilty of at least one of these. How else has WoW infiltrated your daily life?

When WSG was first released I played it and the other BG's non-stop for about 3 months. During that time i'd stay up way to late playing and at work when ever I got bored or tired I'd hear the WSG flag capture sounds.
And my wife and I have conversations about hearth stones or mage portals whenever we have to take a long trip out of town.

I didn't know "gank," "pwn" and "aggro" were different worlds. How may I visit these worlds? I could use a fun Christmas vacation.

My family was at a restaurant and when I asked my husband what he was having he said, "Red Snapper."
Without thinking, and in perfect imitation of a female Draenei, I replied, "Red Snapper...Very Tasty!"

It may be that I sometimes think of my household chores as dailies to grind spousal rep.

When your 7 month pregnant wife wakes you up in the middle of the night laughing because she had a dream where she was gathering the mats to have me make "Glyph of Water Breakage" for her.

I was once walking through my building at work, and saw my boss out of the corner of my eye and though, "Oh, good, no exclamation mark, she must have nothing for me to do!"
I made myself lay off WoW for a few days after that.

I do the mats thing, for everything I cook. My mother thinks I'm crazy :)
BF and I both play - we watched Dark Knight the other evening and after it was over (around 2am NST) I told him I was gonna log for the night (meaning I was going to bed). Funnier still was he said back to me "LOL", he never laughed he spelt it.

You know you've played too much WoW when ... you read this comments and laugh out loud.

I've definitely said "ninja" a few times IRL and no one knew what I was talking about. Also have caught myself trying to rotate the "camera angle" using my mouse when looking at a picture or watching a movie online.

You go to the store to buy cat food and can't find "Kibblers Bits"

ES that pic ftw. heheh
when you "casually" mention that yourself and your wife play world of warcraft when meeting new people at work ect.. hoping to recruit someone from RL into your raiding guild.

So on the nose there. I often wonder if i spent as much time and effort into researching stock buys as I put into the AH if it would net me some nice cash.
Of course just blindly picking stocks i couldnt do any worse then my current Ameriprise funds.

I play with WASD - and I bet you know where I fingers land during work hours....luckily I do AutoCAD work with keybindings too - so I got some real nifty keybindings focused on the left side of the keyboard ;)
Thomas Dec 16th 2008 10:03AM
haha... I also use AutoCAD and I often look down to see my fingers hovering over the WASD keys, even though I have nothing bound to thoes keys.

Same. I try to shift camera angle while working in 2D drawing sometimes. I think the worst happened recently tho, when I was having problems with my family doctor (who is extraordinarly busy this time of year) taking too long to see my sick child. I contemplated typing "WTB Doctor", and which channel I should put it in. Then I realized there WASN'T a channel. Then I wondered if (with the large population of wow players worldwide) maybe it would be a good idea to have a website where you can find businesses and services you need in the same format as LFG. Then I realized how much LFG sucks in all reality, so I gave up.
