Wait, what? This isn't about "armor", it's about loot availability. For example - a boomkin can roll on +spell dmg bracers in both the leather and cloth varieties, while mages, locks and spriests can only roll on the cloth. They physically can't equip the leather bracers. Therefore, the boomkin has twice as many chances to upgrade that item slot. If the cloth bracers drop off one boss, the boomkin wins, and then the leather bracers drop off the next, either the boomkin gets them or they go to waste (or to the eleshammy cause it sounds like they're pretty hard up for gear atm).
