40 mans were not as fun as 10 mans are now. Period. Anyone who says different is selling something.

The problem was getting the 40 people to go (I almost never saw an actual 40-man except for later BWL and AQ 40, MC was constantly 33-manned). Trying to find a night where 40 people can raid was a real barrier for most guilds.

Loot was not as plentiful. Each boss dropped the same 2 epics/1 tier piece or 1 epic/2 tier pieces they do now, only spread around the 30-40 people in the raid. Made especially worse by the fact that there were at least 4 other people of your own class, let alone similar specs. Try raiding as a boomkin and getting a staff upgrade and bidding against 5 mages, 5 locks, an elemental shaman, 2 shadow priests, and that other boomkin.

However, I would love to see heroic MC, ZG, and AQ 20. Make then 10/25 if you want. It would be a lot of fun to be able to go back there at 80. Let them drop hateful/deadly gladiator gear or T7. Or just rehashed T1 models. I wouldn't mind running around in Cenerion again. People never got to see these places, and honestly they WERE great for their time, and they just sit there right now.

And don't just bring back the old-old school raids. Make BC raids heroic too! Some people are sick of BT, but I wouldn't mind going to hitting up some level 80 kara or level 80 SSC.
