WoW Moviewatch: Oxhorn's Christmas Tree
With that said, if anything can get me back into a celebrating mood, it's Oxhorn. Especially when those celebrations include beating Elves brutally until Christmas spews forth from their broken frames. I even like Elves! Okay, saying something like that could put me in a sticky spot. I like most Elves. Is that better?
I'm not sure that Oxhorn needs a whole lot of critiquing at this point. Even if there's something you don't like about his machinima, it is always distinctly an Oxhorn work. The dialogue always makes me smile, the characters are memorable, and the voice actors bring a lot of charm to the production. Telling Oxhorn to do something differently is like telling Baron Soosdon that his machinima are too sparkly. Soosdon's machinima certainly aren't my favorites (with some exceptions), but those sparkles are his thing, you know?

Elves bleed gifts?! I should use rend more often in PvP
Also this was the funniest thing ever not to mention being INCREDIBLY well done. This more than makes up for that pink unicorn abomination.

Very well done, great story, and a holiday appropriate ending.

some people had to roll elves to be alliance druids okay???
SaintStryfe Dec 23rd 2008 12:56PM
I love that Oxhorn's hatred of elves is for all elves, not just the Alliance ones. I also found APE kicking Qunitis out a cute call back, as well as him turning into Lt. Col. Virtue with Barnaby. And Who knew Hat's Jaws could cut steel?

Fear the Hat.

Nuff said.

Amazing. This was just soooo awesome! The scene where they beat down the army of mailbox-dancing elves to a christmas jingle will be a part of my happy place forever.

I understand your pain...I used to work in a retail clothing store, and the 'Christmas season' completely ruined it for me. People get so cranky and stressed, it's just really not pleasant. Not to mention being in a mall all the time isn't fun either. This is the first Christmas I haven't worked in retail for a while, and it's a lot more...peaceful.

Well Done! Love the bit regarding the tree!
JCali Dec 23rd 2008 4:31PM
Good except for the "Holiday Tree" crap. Another fabricated war-on-Christmas myth perpetuated here and by other Christians over sensitive to the phrase "Happy Holidays".
spacehyena Dec 23rd 2008 2:09PM
You beat me to it. Not to mention that pagans had the whole 'decorated trees' thing going long before the practice was adopted by Christians.
A well done little movie, nontheless.

If the Oxhorn people wanted to complain about it, that's there business, isn't it?
Tuhljin Dec 23rd 2008 5:16PM
It's a Christmas tree now, whatever it may have been in the past, and telling people it's "offensive" to use the word "Christmas" there is something certain people really do. End of story.
JCali Dec 23rd 2008 5:51PM
The point, Tuhljin, is that these "certain people" (the ones saying don't use the word Christmas) don't exist. It's a straw man they've created because of their sensitivity to the phrase "Happy Holidays". End of story.
And Amaxe, the Oxhorn people can complain about whatever they want in their video, and if they post it on a public forum, I can complain about whatever they put in it. That's my business, isn't it?
spacehyena Dec 23rd 2008 5:59PM
Tuhljin, nobody is saying it's a bad thing to call it a 'Christmas Tree,' except perhaps Oxhorn... in that he insinuated it could be some sort of crazy-offensive term. For the record, I am non-religious, yet none of my friends nor family find the term offensive.
I was merely pointing out that paganism is still observed and, imho, it's important to acknowledge where one's religious practices originate from, however different they may be in today's society.
Happy Holidays. :D

Hehe, that should be on tv every year instead of the tripe they put up now. . .
