AchievementTracker tracks achievements across the realms
Reader Jeffrey R. was kind enough to send us his achievement tracking site, named (conveniently) AchievementTracker.com. We've seen quite a few sites for tracking achievements on your own character out there already (especially since the Armory opened up the information to the web), but unlike the others, AchievementTracker seems to be focusing on ranking only -- instead of browsing over your own information, all the site really presents is a list of the top players in the world, US, EU, or by the various realms. There are a few caveats, the first being that they're only tracking characters above level 70, and the second being that they're not tracking everyone -- I had to put my own character into the system (though that won't matter if you're just looking for the top players, since I would never even rank on any lists anyone was watching). And while WoW-Achievements has Beelsebub of EU Darksorrow at number one and Minipuff of EU Stormscale in second place so far, AchievementTracker has them backwards (and their point totals are lower -- maybe Armory lag?).
And of course we don't know for sure if there's someone on the realms that neither of these sites are tracking with more achievement points (it may be worth noting, too, that beyond Armory links, neither site tells us much about the characters -- is there a class or spec that's better for achievement point earning?). It'll probably take a little while until we can get a standard for tracking these, but until then, looks like we'll have a few different lists to watch.

Imo, this will just be another place where someone can brag for achievements. Not too special. but that's just me.

I'm amazed to see how much time some people dedicate to playing this game. Almost 7k achievement points...
Vivica Dec 27th 2008 7:43PM
Though, achievementtracker doesn't have all points. On one site I had 1935 and on the other I had 2400 or so..

Europe ruling the top...as they should be :D

Interesting side-effect is that you can see the LOWEST scores tracked.
e.g. there is a level 70 warlock on my server with 200 points. Although judging by the fact that he has 2000+ HKs and no other PvP achievements, I'm guessing that the character hasn't been played since before the achievement system came in.

#493 on my realm... of course I went up some 255 points since it was updated.
Still, since according to WoW Census there are 32,218 people on the server (characters? players? no idea), that puts me in about the top 2%.
I would have guessed the top 1/3.
That and $5 will buy me a cup of coffee... ;-)

Hey all,
This is the owner of http://www.wow-achievements.com and I wanted to say thank you to wowinsider for letting me know another site even existed... despite their point values being extremely off from my own which update much more frequently... I am using this as an excuse to release another feature on my site... look for it in the morning cause I plan on working through the night :)

Both sites are nice Mep.
The one in the article however hasnt updated me since the last 500 points & I'm not listed at all on your one as far as I see.
Good work so far, but I realise theyre both works in progress.

I believe the armory is more updated than the site (at least in europe), because in the armory I'm lvl 80 with 1160 achievement points, while in this site I'm just 78 with 100 less points. I dinged 80 more than a week ago, dunno why it hasn't updated yet on the site.

I have more than 4000 Achievement Points and this site says I have something like 2000.
Just wrong =)

I would have to say its not the smartest move to generate rankings from data 20+ days old, that may be why points are missing.

How, in the name of the lord, can someone be ranked #2 on EU rank, while he is ranked #1 in the World?

Yet another useless site to bog down the Armory.
