Tattooed for the Horde
I can't say that I'm the biggest fan of tattoos out there, but that is a nice tattoo -- xstitchfla's son Christopher got it on his arm just recently, and clearly he's flying the Horde flag proudly. It took about five hours to put on there, which seems like it would hurt a lot, but then again, Hordies can take it, right?Christopher is also headed off to Iraq next year, too, so we wish him the best of luck and hope that he stays safe.
And while we're at it, just what is it with the Horde and WoW tattoos? Seems like every picture we see is of the Orc/Tauren/Troll/Blood Elf/Forsaken variety. Aren't there any Humans, Gnomes or Dwarves out there getting inked up?

Would you seriously put an alliance tattoo on your arm?, tbh the horde designs are more suited for this, the color arrangement and style alone are a good start.
Michael Dec 29th 2008 3:13PM
I dont know any alliance that are old enough to get tattoos.
Not being a d-bag just truthful. The only people that I know irl that play alliance are 16 and younger.

If you still think that one faction is all kids and the other is all adults, you're just stupid.
I play alliance. Everyone I play with is over 30. My guild has a 13 y/o healer, and that's the sole exception. Also, she's leet. Get over yourself. You're faction's not where the only cool people who play are.
inking yourself with WoW tattoos is about the same as a kid getting a Tigger tattoo on his 18th birthday. It's a permanent reminder of a temporary feeling.

I play in an adult only guild alliance side. At 29, I am below the median age for my guild of over 206 (non alt) members.

@ Michael
Interesting. The stereotype I was familiar with were the Horde were the kids and the Alliance were the adults. I was not even aware of the other.
I'm guessing what you say is the common stereotype of the Horde side, while what I heard is the common stereotype of the Alliance side
(personally thinks WoW could use a "Literacy Test" akin to the game Kingdom of Loathing where you were not allowed to post things until you could demonstrate understanding of proper grammar)
As for the tattoos of the Alliance... well when they give you a giant "L"...

"If you still think that one faction is all kids and the other is all adults, you're just stupid."
Yes thats exactly what my post says......
I just pointed out that I DO NOT KNOW any alliance of age.
I did have a friend that was 17 and alliance, though he did switch to horde, should have stayed alliance though cause he is a d-bag and elitist in game.
I have rolled alliance made it all the way to lvl 30 and became disgusted with the whispers of not so pleasant thing(I definitely would not want my children exposed to). And that was my experience with alliance, therefore, I play horde.
blah blah blah dont blame it on all of us blah blah blah not everyone is like that blah blah blah
Kia Dec 29th 2008 4:35PM
Seconding the "Alliance aren't kids". I'm 24 and play Alliance (play both, actually), and most other people I know in their 20s either play Alliance or both. I actually don't know anyone strictly horde in person.
Quickshiv Dec 29th 2008 5:23PM
Michael's attitude is exactly why I play alliance. In my experience the more immature players are usually drawn to the "bad *ss looking" factions in most any MMO. That is an extreme generality and I know quite a few people that have or do play horde and are perfectly fine people but I still feel the horde models attract a certain mentality of player. Now you can also say that the Alliance models are more mom approved so it might be that younger people do play alliance. I honestly don't care how old someone is as long as they play well and are respectful.
Back on topic. That guy is going to be the coolest fossil rocker in his old folks home. He can tell all the guys about how he soloed Kara after the 3rd expansion back in 2011. At least it isn't on his face I guess.
Arktic Dec 29th 2008 5:40PM
Wow, does no one read comments to understand what they are saying anymore? Michael says that he doesn't know any Alliance players old enough old to get a tattoo and you think he's saying that there are no Alliance players old enough to get a tattoo. Do you honestly think Michael knows every Alliance player to have played the game? It's like me saying, "I've never met anyone who can throw a baseball 200 yards." Now, I never said that no one could, just that I've never personally met someone who could.
Quickshiv Dec 29th 2008 6:00PM
Come on Arktic you know thats not what he was saying at all. It's the same as if he said "no offence" and then said something completely offensive. I wouldn't have posted if he hadn't proved his true intent with the 2nd post.
jay Dec 29th 2008 6:16PM
Why do people continue to take things out of context?, this is about tattoo's people, not about how many fuckin' kids the Horde/Alliance have, choice of faction is not governed by what "looks badass" as someone happened to mention (not sure where you got your conclusion from, but your entitled to guess I suppose).
My theory is that faction choice stems from what an individual finds most appealing to them, whether or not they are children or under 16 is a non issue, plenty of adults out there read Harry Potter (written with children, mid-teens in mind). Can't judge someone by what faction the choose, can't get defensive either.

I find the stereotype to be very real (despite that I am horde and under 18)
I am one of the very few exceptions in my guild horde side which is mainly adults and the only people I know in real life that play wow are younger than me and all play alliance.
Sometimes stereotypes are actually real.
Alex Dec 29th 2008 6:34PM
I'm w/ Michael on this one, and anyone who tried to say he was wrong is a moron for not understanding what he said was a personal opinion.
Go Horde.
Harmun Dec 29th 2008 6:38PM
I think the acne really sells this picture.
Oh, and on topic- most everyone in most everyone in an alliance raiding guild on my server is over 25.
woez Dec 29th 2008 9:15PM
"It's a permanent reminder of a temporary feeling."
Sounds like a pretty good reason to get a tattoo to me.
joerendous Dec 29th 2008 9:34PM
while we're all throwing random insults to people we don't know or will ever meet IRL, i think you all smell of elderberries
Roflpanda Dec 30th 2008 2:31AM
I think the point is that OVER-GENERALIZING an INGAME FACTION based upon COSMETICS is a STUPID NOTION. The people that play Horde are NOT brutal, unforgiving pricks. And Alliance is NOT a bunch of cowardly, hippie pansies. It's what you chose based upon YOUR IDEA OF WHAT YOU WOULD WANT YOUR AVATAR IN A FANTASY GAME TO BE.
There is a VERY LARGE number of people that play BOTH SIDES. So stop the over-simplified "us and them" BS and realize that it's just a bunch of people behind a flippen computer screen.

I've been thinking about getting the Kirin Tor symbol on my wrist, back, or ribs for a while, being a mage and all. It's just a cool looking logo.
Popesicle Dec 29th 2008 3:21PM
My wife is not a WoW player, but an avid tattoo collector, and she saw that Kirin-Tor symbol as I was hanging out in Dalaran the other day and she said she was thinking about getting it as a tattoo too. She is into pagan stuff and said it was very similar to the Eye Of Horus which is an egyptian symbol for protection and power from gods...or something like that.
