World of Warcraft's top five political contributions of 2008, Part 2
GLBT guilds

Any like minded group will naturally want to form codified relationships. On the server Proudmoore US there are a large number of Gay/Lesbian/Bisexual/Transgender (GLBT) guilds clustered together. They represent the full gamut of gameplay in WoW, from casual PvP to hard core raiding.
Our own Lisa Poisso sat down a couple months ago with Venfelder of the guild Taint to talk about experiences and life in a GLBT guild. It's quite an interesting read for those wanting to know more about this aspect of WoW's culture.

As an out gamer, I'm thrilled you covered this guild (despite the inevitable epic stupid that followed in the comments), but I'm sort of baffled as to why it counts as a political topic. AFAIK this guild is not devoted to activism within the game of any sort, unless you count the pride parade (and those are less about politics these days and more about partying). It's just LGBT players and straight allies that built a safe space to have fun on the game.
I think it's sad and telling that is considered "political". I guess LGBT people just living our lives is political to some people. /sigh

Adam specified political *and social* issues when setting up his post. LGBT issues are considered social ones, and I believe the spirit of the article is to highlight some in-game vs real world policital and social issues covered in 2008.
Please try not to be so sensitive and emo. We don't want the reputation of being whiners. =)
