WoW Insider Show Episode 70: The year that was
It was a great time as always this weekend on our podcast -- Dan O'Halloran, Adam Holisky and I all went on the virtual airwaves to talk about WoW's extra half-million players, answer lots of reader emails, and run through the top 10 posts of 2008 (along with a little insight on how they came together and what was really popular on the site this year). It was a lot of fun to make, and hopefully you'll enjoy listening to it as well.Plus, this show was our first with a fanmade intro -- big thanks to Mialoha on Hydraxis for stepping up and being first. We've got a few more in the buffer, but if you'd like to make an intro to the show (and do a shoutout to your guild, toss in a plug for your own website, or just say something funny about Turpster), all you need to do is record an mp3, and email it to our email address: theshow@wow.com. That is, of course, also the place to send any questions, comments, or what have you for us.
It was great to put a capper on 2008, but we'll be back next Saturday at 3:30pm Eastern over on Ustream as always (and the T tells me he'll be back) with yet another 52 shows about WoW Insider and World of Warcraft. See you then.

I won't let myself listen to this weeks show until I make back to work on Thursday. Just wanted to commend Schram's hosting abilities which have really come around since the start of your podcast. I would say second only to Scott Johnson of the Instance (that guy has sexy compression tricks and a nice delivery).
You get points for doing it in a round table format though as opposed to the Instance's two person banter. I like that WoW Insider seems less scripted and more of afree conversation than some other podcasts though. Basically keep up the good work, it's a great asset to your site.
Other WoW Podcasts worthy of listening (who listens to just one?)
* THE INSTANCE - http://www.myextralife.com/wow/
- One of the original WoW podcsts, light on hardcore news but always entertaining. Probably mote listened to WoW podcast.
* WOW THINGS CONSIDERED - http://www.wcradio.com/shows.php?selectShow=51
- In my humble opinion the best thing left on WoW Radio. More "hardcore" news than your average podcast with a bit too much unrelated chatter, but it passes the time nicely.
* THE GRIND - http://www.thegrindpodcast.com/
- Very respectable for lack of age (in podcast terms), seems to be very similar to the Instance but with more news and less BS.
... to be continued due to limit of 3 urls per post (totally understandable for spam prevention)

* LEGENDARY THREAD - http://www.1up.com/do/minisite?cId=3156457
- 1up.com's take on the WoW Podcast phenomenon. Still a decent listen, the entire on air crew has turned over since its inception and they seem to be experiencing some growing pains.
* THE CRAFT OF WAR - http://www.virginworlds.com/podcast.php?show=33&ep=4
- Best newcomer Podcast, light hearted (yet fun) news coverage and a very entertaining and experienced cast. Love craft tips at in are a riot. Good take on a crowded genre.
* EPIC DOLLS - http://www.virginworlds.com/podcast.php?show=31&ep=58
- All girl podcast, next to WoW Insider possibly the best current even and news podcast running.
If you have more you'd like to share please do. I hope sharing this is not seen as direct competition to WoW Insider (I mean we're not dealing with Total Biscuit here, right?). I have no ties to any of these, just honest opinions of their quality and content.
This is a community and strong podcasts only help each other out, as I started my post. Who listens to only one podcast?

That Shaman story is a cover up. Shaman DPS is a-ma-zing. Every 25 man raid I have been on it has been neck and neck Shaman DPS and hunter DPS. Blizzard has stated they are nurfing hunters and buffing Shamans. So who is going to be on top soon?
This is why I have rolled a Shaman. I rolled a Shaman Friday and dinged 40 yesterday. Its sooooooo easy to level.
