15 day credit given to players affected by character transfer issues
Back in late October and early November, you may (or may not) remember that Blizzard was having some substantial issues with their character transfer system. To prepare for the release of Wrath of the Lich King, there was an epic number of people moving characters around for one reason or another. A problem came up where some characters were getting lost in limbo along the way. Stuck, and unable to be played. One of our readers wrote in this morning with a followup, and it seems that everyone who had issues is being granted a 15-day playtime credit on their account to make up for it. Half a month across the board is a pretty substantial credit, especially considering many of the people we've heard from were only locked out of their characters for a couple of days. I'm sure we'd all prefer there was never a problem to begin with, but this is a pretty generous compensation if true. I was impressed when they gave everyone a three day credit awhile back.
I said 'if true' up there because we haven't seen much on this in an official capacity. As far as we've seen, there are no announcements or notices about it, just the e-mails going out. I have no reason to believe this is a phishing attempt though, the e-mail specifically states no action is required on the part of the user, and asks for no information. It seems (to me, at least) that this is legit, and Blizzard has made a pretty big step in patching up the mess.

I wonder when Blizzard will think about fixing the PCT issues in the EU where large amounts of people are getting "Payment Rejected" everytime they enter their details at the end of the PCT process.
It is frustrating knowing you have money on the card, and it just will not go through. Then being told to contact Billing by Phone, and being accused of not having the money on the card, and when assured otherwise their drones just umming and arring about it for a few minutes before saying they will research the issue and get in touch via email.
An email that never arrives.

I had that twice until I realised it's their screen that's totally un-user friendly. If you remember you enter your card details *before* the transfer. Once the transfer is almost complete for some reason it asks you for credit card details again, however, and this will be vague because it was 2 months ago, there's another option somewhere on the screen to continue or proceed without re-entering card details.
Mine both then went through straightaway with the details I'd entered the day before.
Yep, both of my transfers occurred in under 24 hours once I'd figured that screen.

yea i was one who transfered at the very beginning of the issue. Mine was stuck for a good two weeks. Luckily it was not my main.
I wished it had arrived earlier i know a few people who were down right piss. i mean having your main stuck for two weeks is no joke.

"there was an epic number of people moving characters"
weird way of using the word "epic"

You play WoW too much, epic just means big or amazing.

Two of my friends tried to transfer to our server 2 weeks before the expansion hit. Their mains are still in limbo, and Blizzard has not replied to them on the forums or through support requests. 15 days is nice, but that really doesn't cover all the mental suffering and wells of tears cried, and the sheer boredom those characters had to face in purgatory. They'll never be the same, I'm certain.

Yep I received this email. My character wasn't affected very long at all. Pretty sweet.
