Rolling restarts for Tuesday, December 30th
You can all rejoice, because we have no maintenance to worry about this morning. According to the login screen, the only thing we need to worry about is rolling restarts. It's a very nice change from the last couple of weeks of extended maintenance, so take advantage of it!Of course, that doesn't mean a whole lot for us here at WoW Insider. We'll still be here all morning, giving you guys (and gals) at work or school plenty of distractions to occupy your day. Here's hoping that everything goes smoothly and the servers actually restart, rather than just roll. Like, on the ground. You know, broken. Get it? ...No? Crap.

You know if you would have actually read the notice you would have seen the "scheduled weekly maintance" which means they will be doing maintance of some sort... I hope it's not like two weeks ago when they needed two extra hours to finish whatever they were doing then.

You know, at the risk of sounding like a fanboi, I must say I appreciate the WI... I embrace the WI... I think I am in love with the WI... :)
Seriously, I do so enjoy the reads and many times I have gleaned pertinent information from the articles. And the fact that I can read it at work makes it all the better. Because, lets face it, if I were at home I would be playing WoW... not reading about it. Now if I could only get the proxy at work to let streaming media through, I would be all set.
Thanks so much for what you do for the community.
For evar yor fanboi... Mastique

not at the dumb joke but at the not having maintenance

Of course that probably means next week will be a major FUBAR...
canaw Dec 30th 2008 9:40AM
this past week was already a major FUBAR (for silvermoon at least). horrible server lag all week and a crash last night. i doubt that a rolling restart is all it takes to fix that.

Cool. And here I was going to spend the maintenance time doing some much needed yardwork.....so much for that now :)

Khaz Modan could use a restart. I was getting some spell lag last night... nothing game-breaking, but annoying when you're trying to test spell rotations on training dummies :-p

4 weeks on the PTR for a minor bug fix patch. I SHUDDER to think how long 3.1 will be on there... 4 months? 5? 6?
