15 Minutes of Fame: Where are they now?

"I never thought of playing WoW like that!" – and neither did we, until we talked with these players. 15 Minutes of Fame profiled a whole host of World of Warcraft players last year, from multiboxers to disabled players and even people with the patience to build a Booty Bay entirely out of Legos.
So how have a year's time and a new expansion been treating our subjects? Some dove into Northrend with gusto. Many reported inspiring new developments and directions, stemming from the publicity they received here on 15 Minutes of Fame. Other players have stopped playing entirely.
We caught up with all but a handful of this year's interviewees for fresh updates. Click into our gallery, just below, to find out what they're doing today.

seriously, the ads make it hard to read the comments and look at the pictures, get rid of them.

Something about the Noor the Pacifist comment didn't sit right with me. Almost seemed like he was complaining that there wasn't anything for him to do as a pacifist once he hits the endgame. But I've got to say...what do you expect out of a game titled World of *WAR*craft? Are we supposed to try and talk to Kel'Thuzad or Malygos and try and get them to walk away from their evil plans?
Other than that, thanks for the heads up on all these people!

You challenge them to a rock off, and get them to give you one chance to rock thier socks off.

Wonderful article and thank you for this column. I'm also a fan of the How I WoW podcast and this column captures the same spirit; in my opinion it does an even better job of revealing the diverse people playing World of Warcraft.

Shout out to Lightninghoof and Shadow Council!

Ok I took some quick stats, of the 32 famous WoW players featured in 15 mins of fame:
18 = are still playing WoW
8 = are still playing WoW but have gone mega casual mode
6 = have quit WoW
Just was curious to know the breakdown, I find it interesting for some reason :)
Frank Jan 2nd 2009 9:21AM
me too. thanks! also interesting to me was WHY some people quit.
on the other side of the (gold) coin, i've seen people mention on other sites that they have *returned* to WoW for wrath... maybe a column about their experiences returning would be worthwhile?

YAY! Sinister Fascination get our 15 minutes of fame!
RD here, i've been with Nocturne since the start and now am a officer in SF, as i was in Nocturnes later days. I can be spotted in both the piccie on this article and the backround of the piccie on the previous article. :D
The split with Nocturne was a sad, yet in-evitable affair. Still, were doing well, taking it casually, with some fantastic new members and progressing through Naxx at a decent pace, i believe were better off for it.

I enjoy 15 Minutes of Fame. I also really liked the WoW Spaces column (I think that was the name) where players showed off their RL WoW spaces. Any chance of bringing that one back?

I miss Hammer of Grammar...
I hope she decides to re-host the comics, even if it's on Gweryc's blog.

Good catch Tamzin. I (Venwe here, 15 minute of fame Gurubashier)have always been quite the casual player. Of course, I think thatwas reflected in the very reason I received the 15 minutes of famenod in the first place. Happy new year everyone. -Hooper

epsilon343, I knew there wouldn't be much to do after 80 (except wait for the next expansion). The only instances I've done are quests that can be soloed by a rogue.

Well I'm happy to be mentioned once more in this column and I've been going mega casual, although it all had something to do with WoW...
Just check out the big tauren ;)
