Queue queue moar noob
It's 10:40 p.m. EST on my server and there is a 30 minute wait to login with a queue of over 300. Oh me oh my, time to get out my BlizzCon goodie bag and head for the QQ n00b tissues. Many users across most of the servers, both in the U.S. and E.U., are reporting long queues again. While the population always seems to uptick around this time of year, one has to raise an eyebrow at this happening a second time in as many months.
November was understandable. Wrath was a big deal. But after a week or so the queues died down. Is this just the second insurgent of Wrath's wrath?
One can surmise that a large number of people received Wrath as a Christmas gift. The assumption is probably correct. Another popular theory is that with all the vacation time on folk's plate right now, people are using it to log into the game and enjoy a bit of Northrend adventuring.
That's probably right too.
What we've seeing is a perfect storm that is skyrocketing login queues every night.
Hopefully this will be ending in a few days, around the 5th or 6th of January when most of America has to go back to work and back to school. And yes, I know that there are exceptions, but in general that's when the holidays end and the real world takes over.
I for one can't wait. I'm running out of QQ tissues.

they have to have server leafs or sumt going down. there is no way this is just useage. even low pop servers are having it. after having a 45 min que on stormrage I just went to an alts server which is low pop and always up. same shit.

Dawnbringer was made to lessen que's on larger population servers (transfers from Cenarion Circle, Area 52, ect.) then we where put on the reccomended list! Since then we have been having 20+ minute ques every night :3

Wintergrasp with 3-4 raids on both sides is .. interesting ..

It was about 400 on Bleeding Hollow tonight. And look at it this way guys - these servers are full of players which means things are still active and flourishing! At least you're not on a dying server with hardly any activity...

There has been a queue almost every night on Medivh, last night it was 789 at 8:00 pm.

Never thought I'd say this but I'm happy I'm on Ravencrest.
Who's failing now? ;D

I guess I should consider myself lucky to have only had a 350 queue on Thrall last night. Took about 15 min.
Looks like I will have to go back to doing what I used to do (way back when daily ques where the norm pre-bc) I'd come home, log in, get in the queue, do whatever stuff I needed to do before playing.. make coffee etc, check email, read wowinsider. usually by the time I was done I would be in.

My guess, actually, was that the queues had something to do with last night being the last night of Winter Veil, and lots of people rushing to get the last achievements in.
(~200 on Drenden at 8 PM, about the same on Boulderfist at the same time and ~500 at 11 PM... but at 11, Drenden was back down to Medium with no queue!)

We dont have queues. Blizzard instead raised the number of accounts allowed and we get to enjoy 4-5k lag in Naxx along with loads of "additional instances cannot be launched".
Raiding has become unbearable, and its impossible to even attempt achievements.

Yea the low /medium servers has become locked at around 8 pm CST or so. My thoughts exactly on winter vacations for kiddies and working folks.
Even the new servers were locked . I can't wait when this "holiday" stuff is over! =)

Same on Cenarion Circle. Last night I waited in a 300 person queue, thankfully it only took me 25 minutes to get in so I wasn't late for my 25 man last night.
However, we were missing approximately 5-6 people and some were even an hour late due to the queue which I believe hit almost 600+ people.

Latin America Servers FTW
no waiting lines whatsoever.
lots of lag though... I think that server is run on a Pentium 3 lol
Xweaz Jan 2nd 2009 8:00AM
I can't believe no one has mentioned Illidan: 1000+ every night for a week or so. If you don't login by 7pm server time, then forget it......
DonJuanito Jan 2nd 2009 8:22AM
Ursin ftw. Despite being 3/1 Horde/Alliance (constant ganking for any sort of dailies anywhere for this little black Alliance duck), I've never ever seen a queue to get on. In fact I have no idea what any of you are talking about with this 'queuing'.
Amaxe Jan 2nd 2009 8:31AM
On my server, it gets bad around 7-8 pm. The rest of the day, no queue. Starting then, there is one which is pretty annoying, though my experiences seem to be less bad than most of the described ones here.
I'm guessing Blizz will need to open new servers and not allow new accounts to start on the ones with queue.
But I am thinking that the New Year holiday and the end of Winter Veil has a lot to do with it, as it has not been bad before this week (except for when LK launched)

The gift idea makes sense, but it still seemed like an awfully big jump. I'm praying for free transfers to come out of it :p
