Extended maintenance, some hints of patch 3.0.8

Maintenance will run "extended" tomorrow for all U.S. realms until 11:00 a.m. PST / 2:00 p.m. EST. The last few weeks we've seen the down time grow as Blizzard's worked out issues, so I wouldn't count on the servers being up at 11:00 a.m. PST. However I'll happily eat my words. However unlike Alex, I will not eat my hat.We also have heard a couple sources whispering in our ear that patch 3.0.8 will be dropping either tomorrow or next week. We'll have to wait and see on that one. Don't take what we're saying here as any more than a creditable rumor.
However these rumors do have some added credence in that they coincide with comments from Ghostcrawler today such as "These [changes] will be in the next patch (3.0.8) even thought they were not on the PTR," and "We'll be able to share patch notes soon."
No matter if 3.0.8 drops tomorrow or not, there will be downtime. Fable II anyone?

Well if it drops, I've been stockpiling my relics of ulduar, so I am not too worried except for the FUBAR that almost always follows a patch.
I doubt we will see an 11am finish time. Whenever they have a rolling restart one Tuesday it seems the next one takes much longer to get going.
Well I have a lot of chores I need to do anyway.

I'm just glad I figured out how to do a separate install for using WoW Model Viewer. After 3.0.2, I couldn't access it anymore and I was in the middle of a machinima. Well, WMV wouldn't work after that and shortly thereafter, I lost my original file that I was working on. Sad, QQ, all of that jazz. Then I figured out how to do a separate install pre-3.0.2 and have been working on the machinima again. Now another patch? It would have killed it again and I would be VERY sad, QQing a lot, etc. So that's good news...the bad news is that my main is a hunter. NOOOOOO!!!!!!

I'm hoping for the patch tomorrow, shaman changes FTW. Looks like i'm the best option for raid healing once again.

I think the 20 yard range on the Holy Light glyph will do a lot for Pally AOE healing... I'm excited to see how that works out.

I'm good either way, this week or next...
3 more dalaran cooking awards and 8 points in cooking and I can buy and cook a Fish Feast and finally become a Chef!
Offhand, El's site says, "Gigantic and Small Feasts become "yellow" until skill 450"
Currently ingame, these 2 recipes are green at my current level of 442. Can anyone that has played on the test realm confirm that these recipes will be set back to yellow for better skillup chances?

It's for that small chance that I'm holding off till after the patch to finish off the push to 450.

I don't understand why people bother even speculating. To my recollection no patch from the PTR has ever gone live without the PTR closing beforehand.

Damn Icecrown's 700+ queues, it was close to 1000 the other night. I hope they use the extended maintenance to create some more realms.

Ill be playing Left 4 Dead. TF2 needs a new class revamp its gotten dull for me. But Damn it can valve can make awesome games.
Anyways back to wow I hope the 3.0.8 patch comes woot woot.

The one thing I'll miss if the patch does drop is the compact size of the polar bear mount (which the patch notes will become normal size)
As a Draenei I can fit through few doors while riding on a mount. Because of this, the polar bear became my #1 favorite epic ground mount as it is short enough I can just run on through until I auto dismount.

Make sure to grab your Iron Boot Flask tonight before you have to go buy some RoU off the AH for a ridiculous and unreasonable price.
