"It's fiction" seems a relatively poor defense. You're fine with Lara Croft. Great. What if instead of being a kickass Tomb Raider she was instead a complete incompetent? What if every level ended with her completely messing things up and having to be rescued by a square-jawed action hero who kept saying things like "When will you learn, Lara, this is no job for a woman" while she simpered and waved her breasts at him? What if the game ended with her finally deciding he was right, and settling down to have six kids. What if, over the closing credits, there was a big flashing sign that said "THIS ISN'T A JOKE, WE REALLY THINK WOMEN ARE STUPID AND SHOULD STAY HOME AND MAKE BABIES".Just because something is fictional, that doesn't stop it being offensive. Of course the pandaren aren't as extreme as the above example, but nor are they as innocuous as a female character in a game having a slightly exaggerated figure.
