WoW Moviewatch: Irdeen's The Power of the Horde
At this rate, it looks like Irdeen may turn into one of machinima's regulars. Today's Moviewatch features not only him, but also another regular in the WoW community: L70ETC. Irdeen has created a music video for one of their most popular songs, "The Power of the Horde."
For obvious reasons, Irdeen used the in-game models for the Blizzard rock band. The video features the metal group stomping out their tunes at the gate to Outland, with several mileu shots for chorus and chords. Irdeen also helpfully includes subtitles for those who might have trouble making out the lyrics. (I like metal as much, if not more, than the next guy, but even I have to admit you could be stumbled trying to make out what L70ETC is singing.)
At this point, I'd encourage Irdeen to keep developing original material. I think this video shows that he's mastered a lot of tactics and tools to creating machinima, and Go Turbo Go displayed his ability to do some music himself. I'm eager to see him take his skills to another level.

Nice video, but in my opinion, there is nothing more tired or overdone than L70ETC.

lol, was just going to post the same thing. Over 2 pages of nothing but L70 and machinima. The wowinsider staff must have a malfunctioning RNG story generator going while they're off recovering from New Years.

Well, unless/until Blizzard creates another band creature set, we're kinda stuck with them for music videos, and by way of association, we're kinda stuck with hard rock/heavy metal, at least insofar as having musicians in the videos.

Why is it that almost every one of these video have 2+minute credit sequence on such short videos. This video was good, as are most posted here, but these ridiculous credits annoy me. Luckily I can just stop the video. Look we know in the beginning who made it because every editor has their own custom animation off the top. I guess everybody just has to see their name on the video. I'm all for giving credit but what ever happened to a black screen with names flying by with some catchy music maybe 30 sec max... just my opinion... sorry to rant...

Filmed in NauseaVision!
... seriously, dude, steady the camera. Dynamic action is cool and all, but that's a bit much.

The only thing that came to mind when I read that was "The Blair Witch Project"...AAAUUUGGGHHH...buy a tripod!!!
Okay, enough of that. You get the picture.
Can't watch it here at work, but I'll check it out when I get home after I've taken some Dramamine.

Ick...camera shake through the whole frickin' thing? I had to stop it about 30 seconds in.

"but even I have to admit you could be stumbled trying to make out what L70ETC is singing."
To wit, he got some of them wrong.
2:18 I'"m pretty sure that's supposed to be 'black blood', not 'black god', as orcs have, nur, black blood.
4:16 It's Alter of STORMS, not stones.
Nice video and all, but yeah, L70ETC is well past being done.

Looked good, but I've got to agree with Ashuntrah: Steady. The. Camera. A little bit of dynamic camera shake is OK, but I ended up turning off the video after only about 20 seconds, because it was giving me a headache.

Yawn.
L70ETC has been done to death. They were cool the first time you saw them in game, but they're a cliché by now.
Also agree with the Nausea Vision comment. All the burry jumping around did nothing but annoy. I turned it off after the first minute or so as well.

I thought they were L80ETC now? Also, not a fan of the metal genre, and don't know why they (Bliz) wouldn't have made several different bands for each genre, perhaps one for each race.

You know... it's about time we get a song "The Power of the Alliance" ! Make it..I don't know.. crazy trance, Ska, or smooth Jazz just to be very different from the Horde version.
C'mon, some brilliant machinimaist--I'm waiting here!
