I'm clamming it up

This topic deserves an article for a few reasons. First, let's take a look at all the changes to clams since 3.0.2:
- Clams are now stackable in stacks of 20. (Patch 3.0.2)
- Players can now open clams while riding a vehicle, sitting, mounted, stealthed, and invisible. (Patch 3.0.8)
And further, someone said "Clams take up too much bag space, let's let them be stacked together."
Okay, so the latter isn't too silly. But this change that's coming in 3.0.8 allowing them to be opened while in non-default states is just weird.
I'm not saying that Blizzard should be doing anything other than fixing our massive clam dilemma. In some ways I'm glad that the game has come down to fixing clams.
But if you're at all like me, it does raise an eyebrow, doesn't it?
Author's Note: Yes, I know the Simpson's quote is "say it... say chowder..." But it sounds much better with the word clam in there.

Clams would be nice (and cheap!) thrown weapons. A stack of 'em could work like shuriken on a aoe timer...upon crit, the shells split open and do slashing dmg while the meat causes the target to slip and fall =D

Obviously in the next expansion clams will be a much needed commodity. Mages will lose the ability to create water in exchange for being able to make clams. Tables will become clamables and Bacon of Light will become Clam of Light. Druids will then QQ on a massive scale and will be given Clam form.

I think it is funny how much people whine because something small gets fixed. I wan them to fix the bugs in pet autocasting but every bug needs to be fixed. If they can fix a small one with no impact on anything else then why should they wait? Did they say they stopped everything to fix the clams? No. Obviously by reading the PTR notes and seeing what is going on in the PTRs they are doing a lot of things. This is just one of them.
Negative backlash again things like this makes people not want to be open and honest. Next time they'll just fix is and not say a word about it. Then you can go back to whatever OP/NERF conversation you want.

Actually, it's funnier without the word "clam" in there. Misquoting is very distracting, whereas we all think "clam" when we hear the word "chowdah".
Minor change, probably took 30 seconds of programmer time to implement. No reason to get bent out of shape, and in some ways it's Bliz's relentless attention to the small details that makes WoW such the superior product.
