New PTR build incoming

Maaven posted a short time ago that the 3.0.8 Public Test Realm (PTR) servers are being taken offline for an update tonight. There is no ETA when the PTRs will be back up.There was a recent update to the PTR patch notes, and there has been a lot of activity on the PTR forums from the blues. It should be noted that Ghostcrawler once again today reiterated that dual spec will not be unveiled in 3.0.8.
There's a few of us here that will be up tonight, so check back and see what the new build brings. I'm placing my gold on more clam updates.

And the ETA of the patch gets pushed back another few weeks ...
Seriously, can we just get the patch already? It seems like the PTR has been up forever.

With a month long PTR for a minor patch like 3.0.8, I shudder to think what wait time we will have when the very major 3.1 patch comes onto public testing.

You have to take into account at least 2 weeks for the holidays when nothing new was pushed out, if not 3 weeks.

Maybe you guys should look at the patch notes again - this patch is hardly minor.

I consider it minor because it does not add new content in the same way that 3.1 will. All we get with this patch is modifications to existing content. Large modifications, granted, but nothing nearly as large as adding Dual Specs and Ulduar.

i think what they mean is that this isn't a content patch, nothing is being added, only changed.
in that regard, yes, this is a relativly minor patch

I'm assuming that, with all the new changes, it's no longer 3.0.8, right?

Well, if you look at the version numbers are programmers do. The format is Major.Minor.Revision. So 3.0.8 is a revision, which means even less then a minor release.

To everyone who has serious complaints about the time this patch is taking to come out: Please, go and make your own patch.
For myself, I see a lot of useful additions and changes and cannot wait for this patch to come out.
