Blind has made me want to play Hide And Seek

Everyone and their mother has seen Blind by Percula, right? If not, go ahead and watch it above. Better yet, go to the actual vimeo page and watch it in high definition. Then come back here for more Blind-goodness.
Blindly satisfied? Great! It's been the #1 search topic on WoW Insider for a bit, so I know people must love it.
The only complaint that folks have about the video is the sound can be rather rough at times. I have to admit that I think this as well (to some extent), however it's nothing that really detracts from the video itself. Further, it's interesting to note that the audio distortion is present in the original song Percula uses as well, which leads me to believe it was an artistic choice of the artist.
But no matter what you think of the audio quality, I haven't ran into anyone who thinks the song doesn't match up beautifully with the animation and story itself.
But therein lies the question – what are the lyrics? The song playing is "Hide & Seek" by Namie Amuro. I wasn't familiar with her, so after some Wikipediaing, I learned that she is a Japanese singer that was, and to a large extent still is, quite popular.

Namie released her seventh album "Play" in June of 2007. The album debuted at #1 over in Japan, and marked Namie's first number one album since 2000. "Hide & Seek" was released on the CD, and not as a single.Despite its appearance as only a track on the CD, the music video won the "Best R&B Video" prize from the MTV Video Music Awards Japan in 2008. I've never understood the "category" of music called R&B.
In my opinion, most R&B is either rap or pop, or some strange hybrid of the two. The misnomer is most evident in the word "blues", of which this music is clearly not.
The lyrics are R&Bish, which is most likely why it's been classified in this category.

@Schmo: R&B came into being as an offshoot of jazz and blues, and could be considered a forerunner of both rock'n'roll and soul. In this context the soul line (which developed into modern hiphop more recently) is what is being referenced when this song is compared to R&B because of it's emphasis on melodic rather than chord progressions.
"Rap" is a style of providing vocals by rhythmic talking, and can be used in a wide range of genres, whether R&B, punk, electronica or whatever.
Pop just means "popular music", and can refer to the more mainstream version of any type genre of music.
When you say "you don't understand", you mean just that. You're welcome to your opinion, but please take the time to study music history before you write off entire "categories" (the word is genre) of music. Maybe you just don't like it - that's a fine opinion to have. Everyone is welcome to their own tastes. Saying it doesn't exist because you don't get it is crazy talk.

You'd be amazed at how many tips we got to feature "Blind" on the site after we'd run it. And then we got even more tips after we linked it again, and still more tips after we linked it third time. The process has continued with no end in sight. A request has been made (forgot by whom) in our backroom channel to change the title of the site from "WoW Insider: News, analysis, and opinion from inside the World of Warcraft" to "WoW Insider: YES, DAMMIT, WE RAN 'BLIND.'"

I went back through their logs and found Blind, otherwise I would have suggested it 3 days after they ran it.
It is pretty popular.

Am I the only one that does not like this video? The only thing special about it is it's made with the WoW engine/models. And there have like 6 posts talking about it.

If people are going to keep requesting it, then it would be stupid not to continue to give them what they want.
The video doesn't use the WoW engine, the character models were extracted and put into another program. The story of a Belf trying to take down Lady Prestor is also WoW related, especially when Matthias Shaw shows up to (try to) kick her ass.
The reason people are going nuts over this video is that the choreography of the character models is amazing, and timed with the music. You'll see a lot of strikes and movement based on the beat of the music, which is fairly impressive. If you've ever done any kind of video editing you can see a lot of skill and thought in Blind.
It seems that some people just don't like the music, and that ruins the video for them. I think that Percula did the right thing though, and picked a piece of music that matched with the timing he wanted for the movie.

What audio distortion?
I don't recall people saying the quality of the music track was distorted. From all feedback I've seen regarding this video the comments against the choice of music was because the soundtrack "didn't fit" the style of video, and that they don't like the genre of music and would much prefer some Evanesence track instead.

No matter what music Percula picked he would be flamed for it. Music choice is such a personal thing with a wide variety of choices that there's no way he'd not take flak for it.
The distortion they're talking about is in the backup singers by the way, it's a little bit of fuzziness to their voices, and probably was intentional since the other parts aren't distorted similarly.
You may hate the music, but the tempo fits the pace of the movie, and brings across a somewhat playful feeling to the Belf rogue infiltrating SW. If you want to understand what I mean, then try picking some other music and matching it up to Blind. You won't find many songs that fit.
