Tank him near the slime river and have your melee DPS jump in and out of the slime to stay at half health, that way the chance of him hateful striking someone other than the tanks is minimized.

That isn't necessary anymore, they changed it since 40 man Naxx so that the people getting hit by hatefuls get a threat boost. Even if both OTs are just about dead, anybody below third on the threat list won't eat a hateful strike, ever. The only way it happens is if they out threat an OT (low health won't save them), or an OT dies (in which case someone else is now third).In fact I'd say its a bad idea. If an OT does die, its possible for a DPS to pop Evasion, Shield Wall, or Icebound Fortitude and maybe take a hit. If you're close to a kill the extra few seconds it buys can be the difference.
