Around Azeroth: Why you don't get heals anymore
One of the more annoying aspects of raiding rogues is their ability to survive a wipe by Vanishing and then go make a sandwich/repack the bong/play annoying techno music in Vent while everyone else is running back and buffing. Gulag of <Booty Bay Co> on Twilight's Hammer-EU and a fellow rogue have decided to pass the time following a Loatheb wipe by getting all Deviated up and putting on a dance contest. Who wants to bet that they were the last to be rezzed on the following wipe? Healers never forget.
Do you have any unusual World of Warcraft images that are just collecting dust in your screenshots folder? We'd love to see it on Around Azeroth! Sharing your screenshot is as simple as e-mailing aroundazeroth@wow.com with a copy of your shot and a brief explanation of the scene. You could be featured here next!
Remember to include your player name, server and/or guild if you want it mentioned. Please include the word "Azeroth" in your post so it does not get swept into the spam bin. We strongly prefer full screen shots without the UI showing -- use alt-Z to remove it. Please, no more battleground scoreboards, double-mounts, or pictures of the Ninja Turtles in Dalaran.Filed under: Screenshots, Around Azeroth, Galleries

I loved doing that.
I levelled my Sub Rogue with my friend during our Recruit a Friend days. He had a Warlock, and when we'd overaggro, I'd just poof and wait there /dancing for my friend to corpse run. :D

YOUR A HORRIBLE HORRIBLE PERSON.
Verit Jan 12th 2009 10:07AM
Wiping on Loatheb? We actually one shot him the first time and we suck (we wiped twice on the trash before him).
neadamthal Jan 12th 2009 10:14AM
get over yourself.
Falcio Jan 12th 2009 10:23AM
Loatheb can end up being fairly messy if a spore gets to the tank near the beginning. I mean, it's not necessarily Malygos w/spark messy, but it CAN be messy.

I think the most important issue here is: They got vanish to work!?
Grubba Jan 12th 2009 10:24AM
In four years of playing a rogue, I've never been able to vanish out of a raid wipe (5-mans are a different story, although they're still hit and miss). If these guys were able to do it, they deserve to celebrate.
Shardrell Jan 12th 2009 11:18AM
I vanish out of raid wipes frequently. You have to time it right, depending on the boss' abilities, and it can be difficult since you're likely to be higher on the threat list than many other raid members. If you can avoid being killed until you're one of the last few people alive, sprint, CoS, and vanish. Then you have to hope that the boss kills the rest of the raid before a) your vanish fades and the boss manages to get back in combat with you or b) the boss uses an ability that knocks you out of stealth.
Vanish isn't really broken (though sometimes lag makes it appear broken), it's just tricky to use correctly.

Hey, hunters can feign death too so they can screw off = P
But I actually use that for good, being an engineer I can atleast try to rez a healer....
Kyane Jan 12th 2009 10:19AM
Rule #1 Don't piss off the healer.
Laynne Jan 12th 2009 10:24AM
Hahaha I love doing that. My guild is really pushing for rogue rezing capabilities :)
Mj Jan 12th 2009 11:04AM
Heck, in our guild the rogues have "battle rez"
First vanish
Then use gnome jumper cables (or other equivalent)
Fibbo- You rock!!
Thargood Jan 12th 2009 10:35AM
We must be doing something backwards here. It's our healers that keep playing annoying techno music over vent, while I'm the rogue who has to take my headset off until they're done fooling around.
brian Jan 12th 2009 1:48PM
Yah I hate that. One of our guildies has some annoying birds that always make tons of noise when he's talking on vent. Then you have the people who have vent set with no hot key so any time they talk it keys up, and they're not wearing a headset so every time someone else talks it keys up and you get a loop of sound. I mostly turn my sound off and make them type if it's important. What are they gonna do, our guild doesn't have enough healers to boot me from the raid.
Tjurig Jan 12th 2009 10:35AM
It was actually a lag-wipe. Healers had trouble timing heals with ~5 sec serverlag :/
zappo Jan 12th 2009 12:09PM
I've actually been sorta surprised to find that to be the most stressful thing about being a healer. Not all the other dumb stuff that I see a group doing, or the mistakes I make. No it's when you start cast a heal and see your casting animation stuck and everyone standing still ... then the agonizing wait wondering if everyone will be dead by the time you come out of the lag.
Calthas Jan 12th 2009 10:37AM
Our rogues & mages always vanish when we wipe. One of our great games is to run toward them with an AE boss to break their vanish. I don't think any of them dances when this happens, or they'd really get into trouble :)
Matazuma Jan 12th 2009 10:46AM
Why is it that rogues are n most likely to be high during a raid?
Rihlsul Jan 12th 2009 11:12AM
Our tanks often are. Keeps them laid back, and oddly focused. Me, I call rum 'healing juice'. So, yeah.. stoned tanks and drunken healers. Our raids are at least entertaining, even if they don't always go well.
Arishna Jan 12th 2009 2:30PM
Agreed. And I makes our graphics look oh-so-shiny, especially since we don't really have any flashy stuff... Although I did catch my mic on fire that one time.
