WoW Moviewatch: Insane Gouge Crits 7
PvP-oriented videos aren't really the usual fare for WoW Moviewatch. I admit I watch a lot of them myself, though, mostly trying to pick up tips and tricks for the Arena. So, when I came across Insane Gouge Crits: 7 by Buddhist, I was pleasantly surprised.
Don't get me wrong -- this is a PvP video, with all the action of "I sneak up on a guy and crit him" that you'd expect from that kind of rogue action. But that being said, Buddhist put a lot of work into making this PvP video more interesting that others you might see. It definitely stands out from its fellows in terms of the opening and closing sequences, both of which hint at movie-esque stories happening behind the scenes.
I think this shows that it is possible to bring PvP videos up to the thought and art of more full machinima. There's voice acting, framing, and thought put into scenery. It's definitely a step up, and I would encourage Buddhist to keep bringing his PvP exploits to another level.

Did no one else notice that he put a thong on the night elf at the beginning?
Khass Jan 13th 2009 1:57PM
Of course, why wouldn't people complain about a video obviously made for humorous purposes? It'd defy logic.

7.9 with a gouge? O.o Time to replace Sinister Strike on my action bar...

Wow, I cant believe the number of people that totally missed the fact that this video was made to mock normal rogue pvp videos.
Lots of screen swooshes and zooms, freezes on crits, replays of his biggest numbers. And doing it all with gouge.
WoW players these days. So defensive about their classes they cant enjoy a well made vid for what it is.

The entire explanation from the writer on this site said that this was a pvp video.... not a mock video/ although i wasnt sure wat it was supposed to be cuz if it was supposed to be serious >> 2k dmg on a clothy and 7k dmg on a naked person

And people obviously forget Gouge only does damaged based on AP it doesnt have a base value attack so its not that OP Plus it stops combat and break on attack making it no more than a caster stopper when Kick is on CD (espically in PvP when the next foe could be just over the hill or around the corner)
Also to bear in mind those crits were done against a Clothie and a No Amour it is unkown if the mages gear had any resllience on it.
Just cause a crit is big dont go cry QQ tears all over the show saying rogues are too OP without knowing all the facts.

This is kind of boring video as far as pvp videos go. A good chunk of the begining was him hitting rats... ok... Rest of the videos are crappy duels.
Plus my shaman crits for more in pvp (when she gets to hit that is...).

It seems that no one understands just what Gouge does. So many complaining that their Hunters or Shaman do more damage with their abilities.
Gouge does 1 damage plus attack power * 0.2. A Steady Shot does weapon damage, plus ammo damage, ranged attack power * 0.2 + 252, with an additional 125 against dazed targets. A Lightning Bolt does 500 + 600 scales to 80% of you're spellpower.
I wonder why his crits weren't as high? Whatever could the problem be?
It would appear that some people think he was being serious with his 1 base damage ability.
I wonder how many watched the 29,000 ambush crit at the end there. High Warlord Buddhist would destroy most posters here...
