Around Azeroth: At long last

I'll let Ahead tell his own story: "It had been thirty long years since she left. It was agony when she quietly took her leave to learn the ways of the beast and forest while I stayed behind in Silvermoon devoted to my studies. I gave up waiting for her to come home, realizing that her home was where her head lay. Yet ever since Champion Bachi released me to go forth into Azeroth I kept trained an eye to the horizon, wistfully searching for the woman who gave me reason to push forward. Until at long last...she found me."
Do you have any unusual World of Warcraft images that are just collecting dust in your screenshots folder? We'd love to see it on Around Azeroth! Sharing your screenshot is as simple as e-mailing aroundazeroth@wow.com with a copy of your shot and a brief explanation of the scene. You could be featured here next!
Remember to include your player name, server and/or guild if you want it mentioned. Please include the word "Azeroth" in your post so it does not get swept into the spam bin. We strongly prefer full screen shots without the UI showing -- use alt-Z to remove it. Please, no more battleground scoreboards, double-mounts, or pictures of the Ninja Turtles in Dalaran.

But, he's on a giant bone thing. How can there be a serious story involved?
How about this one:
"She was impressed by my ability to kill the beast AND eat its remains within only a few moments. Afterward, I kind of stood off the edge of the big bone thing and she just stared."
Or something.
(I like the story, btw. I just couldn't look away from where he was standing.)

You win, best reply I have seen on WOWInsider in months!
Jess Q. Jan 15th 2009 10:37AM
Surely you jest. ;)

On a related note, where did all the 'caption this' contests go? I almost miss submissions like this losing to lolcat or monty python quotes.
Dotixi Jan 15th 2009 10:36AM
RP much?
Badger Jan 16th 2009 12:21AM
... Is that a problem?
zappo Jan 15th 2009 10:42AM
"Is that a dinosaur bone you're standing on, or are you just happy to see me?"
oscurotoro Jan 15th 2009 11:38AM
So you're trying to tell me that's a straight blood elf male in the picture. I doubt it. Press the spacebar we'll see.

Indeed, he's way up there so he doesn't get girl germs on his new Wonder Woman boots.

Whatever happened to the "Caption This!" contest? I miss it, and this one would fit in well!
Elizabeth Wachowski Jan 15th 2009 5:12PM
Due to repeated complaints about the submissions I chose, I have let Caption This purposely fall by the wayside for the time being.
Jess Q. Jan 15th 2009 5:33PM
Would a solution to Caption This be making a poll and having users vote on the winner? Just a suggestion.
Badger Jan 16th 2009 12:22AM
Jess: That's how Caption This worked all along.
Keyra Jan 16th 2009 12:38AM
Actually, the "Caption This" choices that the users voted upon were first selected by a third party, which is why Liz was given so much grief over their selection. What Jess is suggesting is to have the users themselves pick the winner from all of the submissions; however, given the sheer volume of submissions in the past, and the fact that the more unscrupulous of the lot (read: trolls) would most likely abuse this by creating alternate accounts to vote up their own submissions, this wouldn't work either.
Maybe have the submissions reviewed and selected only by those who write for WoW Insider (if this wasn't the group that selected the top 10 to begin with)?
