What do you do when your guild is so very close to doing 25mans on your own when a crap ton of people leave citing stupid reasons for thier departure and go to another guild that's been known of Poaching players? This has happened in my guild. I'm an officer and have told my GM that if they aren't good enough to stay with us then we shouldn't be inviting them to our runs or raids if we're lacking in the man power.
Those type of people in my humble opnion are looking to be walked through the content not really taking the time to learn fights and all that. Plus I tend to laugh my butt off when I hear that a former guildie's brother left the guild he went to because of his sister cause that guild treated him like he was unwanted and unneeded.

I have to say that Trade is for just that, Trade.....
I use recruitment channel and that is it in game...
I am much more creative than that when recruiting...
The wow forums are full of people advertising they are looking for guilds and are willing to transfer for the right one...
Get off the old stuff, be new and innovative. This will get others attention quicker than the old "I'll put you on ignore now cause you are annoying" method of spamming trade.
