I've had people attempt to poach me several times on both of my 80's. Only once did the poacher actually succeed, and my rogue's still with their guild, but all the other times I had to decline (my RL friend would slit my throat in my sleep if I had my tank leave his guild).

All of the times I've had poaching attempts made against me except one, were made in a PuG. Black Morass, Halls of Stone, Karazhan, Obsidian Sanctum... And just a random whisper from someone when I was idling in Dalaran. Not sure if that counts.

I must say it's a rather effective way of getting in guild members that you know for certain are going to be at least competent.
