UPDATED: Lake Winterfail crashes Northrend

When servers come back online, the tables have turned and the battle begins anew. If players continute to battle and win, the server will continue to crash. The bug prevents Wintergrasp from ever being controlled, and has caused many servers' Northrend to crash repeatedly. It's kind of a bad episode of Twilight Zone. No official word about it on the forums yet, but it's a considerably large bug that disrupts gameplay for a lot of players, so I wouldn't be surprised if Blizzard takes down tall realms for a quick fix. Meanwhile, I'm about to try my luck in Wintergrasp again. Crash notwithstanding, I don't think I've ever had so much silly fun in my life.
UPDATE: This just in! Bornakk has stated on the official forums that Blizzard is aware of the issue and is investigating it. They may possibly disable the Battle for Wintergrasp on all realms until the issue is resolved. Players may still enter the zone but will not be able to participate in matches. It remains to be seen under which faction Wintergrasp control will fall under, if any. Stay tuned!
UPDATE: The Battle for Wintergrasp has been disabled for all realms until Blizzard can fix the problem. Control of the zone is retained by one faction.

Imagine the quality increase in the community if you got rid of PvP... The general posting quality and literacy on the forums would probably double overnight.

/100% agree

Yup seeing this exact behaviour on Alterac Mountains US.
That being said you still get lots of honor... no 2:30 in between battles.

So... no fix in store for the short realms?

IT'S EASY, Make WG a zone in and NOT a world zone... or is Blizz too proud to admit that they dont have the systems to stick to their dream of a world pvp zone... it would not bother me one bit if I had to zone into WG. They already know its the cause of all the lag... so FIX it.. or is the millions and millions of dollars you collect from us each month not enough?

It's kind of disappointing that Blizzard hasn't made a statement on this yet, perhaps it is out of fear of further abuse though :(.

I'm totally okay with the crashing, because every time the servers come up, the Dalaran books respawn. I only have one to go now!

Right now on my realm Horde and Alli have each won 5 games. I've gotten like 18 marks, and a ton of honor. Much fun.

For anybody suggesting players to simply not play it, you clearly don't understand what's going on.
When a battle ends, regardless of whether or not you succeed at defending or the other side gets it, the bug occurs. There could be zero people in WG and after the timer is up the bug will still happen.
The only possible fix for this is for Blizzard to take down the servers and issue a hotfix, which I imagine they are doing now. Whether or not that will involve disabling WG is speculation.
Point is, play it or don't, the bug will happen regardless.

But it would happen less often. :)

The news are all over the wow forums now, and blue posts are saying the issue is already being looked upon and promising an update when they have an ETA or explanation.

Apparently related to the "essence of wintergrasp" buff being added/taken away from every player repeatedly thus causing a crash.

Can't wait for them to roll back and take away all those exploited points.

Why is Holgar down rated? It's not a troll post and not an ignorant post. If anything that should be 3 stars.

Bank error in our favor! Rock on pvper's!
Honestly I dont care about the honor most people are not getting it most of the time. But it's a blast to play back to back with the same people, I had such a good time for about 6 WG events in a row and then I decided enough was enough. Blizzard needs to look at the fact that everyone stuck in here is loving it and work out some kind of king of the hill battle where you get to play the same people from both sides of the fence.
Seriously though it still crashes if nobody wins, dont blame the pvper's for having a good time. If you only knew how much fun it is. And I am a pve guy 80% of the time.

The issue is it would crash on event timer and not randomly. Also it would love it if say Naxx had this issue and I could run it over and over again in the same week, but that would be exploitation. It is specifically against the TOS to exploit a bug and this is a bug.
Also how do you know it would reset even if someone did not win. Maybe it is that once the orb has been clicked it resets? Do you know for sure?
