WoW Moviewatch: The Bloodsail Elite song

I'm very glad I gave it a chance because I really liked the song. It's clever and fun and that's a combination that's hard to get wrong. The song is obviously meant to be good humor, and I think it succeeds. Its rhyme and meter match the background music, and seems inspired by "Drunken Sailor." While the movie backdrop probably won't knock any socks off, that doesn't really matter. Like most music videos, the video part is there as an enhancement, and the giggly-fun song carries the work as a whole.

I listened to 4 seconds, then I stopped so that I wouldn't scream "MAKE IT STOP!!".

I do not usually comment about the quality of the music in these vids, because everyone has different tastes. With that said - COMEON! This was horrid - I had to turn the sound off. This is the cream of the crop out there right now eh?

To show all the different KINDS of movies that could be made. They can't all be Blind, after all.
i like how the different characters were well reflected by the accents they were given, so in that sense it worked.
Guild videos like this make me wonder what ours would look like. Probably a lot of fishing. A lot.

A real embarrasment for those of us Hordies on the Sha'tar.
The pirate angle is cringeworthy enough at the best of times (overdone student/college humour, anyone?), but this goes beyond that into a new realm of the diabolically awful.
Keep it on your guild site and spare the rest of us, next time.

And yeah it's not real 'singing' in the Turpster sense of the world, but I wouldn't be up for singing either.
Besides, they're pirates ! They can't sing !

The music came off as unrehearsed. it seemed as if the lyrics were written without taking into account how the meter would fit to the music. As a result it came off as if it had too many syllables for an even flow. The singing came off as if the singer was singing it for the first time.
Perhaps this was merely a first attempt, but for future attempts, the creators should consider these things.

Michael all but admitted that the video was bad. That being said he posted it anyway. When the author of the article think the subject of the article is of questionable quality. Why would this author feel compelled to share the video with the rest of it???

The song isn't beyond all hope, though the whole whispering thing really puts me off. I mean I think he was trying for an angsty brooding undead rasp, but it just came off like he was too embarrassed to sing it any louder

Definitely not the quality of a top movie, but this area is meant for all kinds. I think it is decent quality for a typical guild movie. As long as the horde on my server (yes, The Sha'tar EU) is going to sing it every time one of the bloodsail elite comes close.

Yeah I thought this vid was gunna be good, I thought maybe it was going to be about being a Bloodsail Admiral (I see a lot of people with that title nowadays), but instead it was about being a horrible singer.

I'd like to agree with one of the other comments on how you really don't like a video much yet you still upload it.
I like the fact how you can't tell between Ventrilo Quality and a £60 proffesional mic. Oh well.
