New Critter-related achievements in 3.0.8

Critter killing is a favorite past time of many a WoW player. Some would even say it comes close to bordering on obsession. You may know someone like this, or even be that someone. You have a rank 1 Moonfire or Arcane Shot hot key just for taking out critters. Your critter killing has been known to fake out the tank, making him think you're pulling early. You let neither wind, nor rain, nor snow, nor DPS meters keep from killing a critter. Some people call you unbalanced, but you know you're just dedicated.If you've been thinking of jumping into the wide world of obliterating small fuzzy creatures in WoW, now is a good time to start, because since 3.0.8 went live, it's official: killing critters is cool. Pest Control is a new achievement introduced with the patch that gives you credit for killing the creepiest and crawliest of critters on Azeroth, the insects, arachnids, snakes, and other such vermin. You've probably accidentally killed these fellows with a stray Fan of Knives or Pestilence or what have you anyway, but next time that happens, you'll get credit.
If you're a critter lover and need to assuage your guilty conscience, have no fear. You can always do To All The Squirrels Who Shared My Life while you're killing the pests. That way there's some sort of balance. You can be a lover, a killer, or both. Rather zen of Blizzard, don't you think?

It would be pretty silly to have a rank 1 macro for any skill concerning it doesn't cost any less mana than the highest rank.

I just took the comment to mean that such a player has been exterminating critters for a very long time.

I thought when I found this in my achievement tab that I had just missed it. There should be a counter and a title "Exterminator" when you kill a large amount of critters!

Did they change the name of the /love critter one? I could have swore it was 'To all the Squirrels I've loved before', as a take on the song.

Hmm, where is" To All The Squirrels Who Shared My Life" listed in the achievement window? I can't... seem to find it.

"To All The Squirrels Who Shared My Life" becomes available after completing "To All The Squirrels I've Loved Before."

Alternatively, if you have an addon (e.g. Urban Achiever) that alters the Achievements Frame, it might not display these new achievements (and subsequently "... I've Loved Before" neither)

Please please please Blizzard if you're reading, can we have a title for doing all three critter achievements? Or make a capper of some sort? I need to be Huarmamuaala, Master of Critters!

Heh. Nice to see that Blizzard has picked up that some people just plain like to kill critters. *grin* And I'm with Huarmamuaala, a meta-achievement for getting all three would be kickass.

I was running a dungeon on my DK the other day, and the healer had to go AFK real quick.
So, we're all just standing around talking and waiting for the healer to get back when I notice a snake slithering by on the ground.
Because I love killing critters, I quickly target the snake and hit death grip... only the snake wasn't targeted. It was a mob. Which aggro'd the entire room.
We wiped.
When everyone asked WTF happened, I didn't say anything.
Beware the critters!

Being someone who clenches when given a quest to kill neutral beasts, I hate when people kill critters! I imagine these are the very same types who camp low-level players. It just really grits me when group members stomp level 1 critters through a dungeon when their DPS is half mine on the boss. I mean, what are they trying to prove? That they are leet? Hardly. That they can afford to spend ammo or cooldown?
I don't expect everyone to live up to my standards of integrity. I also don't expect this post to improve anyone's disposition (on the contrary, I've met very many people in this country who take pride in their evil deeds.) I just hope that perhaps a few more people are aware of the impression they leave behind.
