I was so looking forward to my Penguin. Now I doubt if any mage uses the glyph. Maybe it's some sort of bad joke about Linux - looks good but essentially useless.

These days a mage has little to do except apply AoE and yawn. Oh no there's a boss, switch to your other button! Seriously, as a fire mage I find I'm doing blizzard repetitively and then when we switch to single target it's Frostfire ad infinitum with an occasional Living Bomb.

Sure I like the threat my prot pally and druid tank generate and the single taunt for the pally now makes it even easier to get stragglers, but I don't really mind CC - hell any strategy would be good besides acting as bait while DPS takes em out.

There's always been this tendency to see a fight measured in only DPS and Healing. In BC, I specced Arcane only to find that no-one noticed or respected my Slow (what's wrong with your DPS man?) or even the mitigation of my druid tank - it's all about the DPS and the heals - bugger any strategy or different ways of doing things.

So bring back the CC - I even want to sleep some beast with my Druid ;-)
