When i first started tanking i always felt CC was needed, especially in SH with my fresh 70 green dps gear :(. i used to love a group were the cc was good. Towards the end of TBC tho i noticed a lot of people struggling to CC decently, I won't say i was amazingly geared as i changed to play a lock for a while so missed all the badge gear after the original stuff, but i often encountered mages sheeping on me while i was trying to tank 2 or 3 mobs, same with hunters placing a trap in the path the mobs had to run to get me. So even though i would love to see CC returned i don't think pugs (my main source of instance runs) will beneift immensely :'(
